Today, we pause to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day—a day set aside to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is not free, and we are incredibly grateful for the courage and commitment they demonstrated on our behalf.
As we reflect with gratitude, we were also blessed today with a meaningful time of fellowship and rest. A special thank you to the Rutledge family for their incredible generosity in hosting our men. They provided a day filled with fishing, relaxation, and a wonderful lunch that meant more than words can express.
We also want to recognize and thank our students who labored to prepare an incredible brisket meal. Your hard work, teamwork, and willingness to serve made the day even more special. It’s a blessing to see the growth, responsibility, and servant leadership being developed in each of you.
Scripture reminds us:
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” — 1 Peter 4:10
Moments like these are impactful—not just for the experience itself, but for the reminder that people care, invest, and give of themselves to support life change.
Today, we are thankful—both for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, and for those who continue to serve others with generosity, humility, and love.
