Excerpt from 2FEB14 Sermon:
"Many years ago I experienced a shameful moment in history when the Men, Women, and Families of our great Armed Forces were shamed by others of faith. I SAY THAT THIS IS A LIE!! You are all loved and respected. "I humbly apologize on behalf of those who have wronged you, to all who have served, to those that have yet to serve, as well as the families of our Men and Wom
en of service. I say that this blight on your honor is unwarranted and ask for your understanding and ask your forgiveness of such a Lie. "I swear on my oath to all Brothers- and Sisters-in-Arms that you will never suffer such a stain on your Honor in this congregation and it shall never be allowed in this holy place. "I say unto all that you are Blessed. Blessed for your truth, Blessed for your courage, and Blessed for your commitment to a Higher order and calling. "I say unto all present: Blessed be the servicemen of our Great Nation, whether they be Orders of Air, Brotherhood of the Sea - both deep and shallow waters, Leatherneck Brotherhood, or Order of the Ground Pounder. "You are all of Honor and Integrity for without your efforts and sacrifice and those of your families we would all be in a place not worthy of either. "You are our defense against the Darkness, you are the Light of Hope and Truth, our response to the evils of the world. You are our protection against all who would threaten our chosen way of life. "You shall be honored and revered in the teachings brought before you by church elders Reverend Tallon, Friar William, St. Thai, and myself. "I shall now end this first sermon with words from Book of Frogs, I say unto all: Show Loyalty to Country, Team and Teammate, Serve with Honor and Integrity both on and off the battlefield, Be Ready to Lead, Ready to Follow, Never quit, Take responsibility for your actions and the actions of your Teammates, Excel as Warriors through discipline and innovation, Train for War, Fight to win and Defeat our Nation's enemies. "May your optics be clear, your sites be always straight and true, and your path accurate to the mark set by your belief and faith." Reverend Jay Pearson
