Every moment matters to God. Even this one. So, are you spending this minute like God intended you to?

Why did we add “deeply formed” to our mission statement as a church? It’s because our desire is that every square inch of our lives is shaped by the risen Lord. Christianity is not a subscription service. It’s a way of living.

Here’s the number one fix for bad theology: Go to church!

Don’t believe me? Maybe you should consider the story of Saul on the Damascus road. Join us to think through this story from Acts 9 tomorrow.

Church growth doesn’t start with a strategy.

It starts when the church stops trying to grow itself.

In Acts, the early church devoted themselves to ordinary things—teaching, fellowship, worship, prayer.

And God brought in the people.

When we fixate on results, we drift from the means God actually gave. Faithfulness isn’t the fallback plan. It’s the strategy.

We’re all skilled at explaining ourselves.

It was the pressure.
The way I was raised.
What they did first.
The chances I never got.

We can trace every failure back to something else—until there’s nothing left that’s actually ours.

But when Peter stood in the temple in Acts of the Apostles, he told the crowd something harder: yes, you were ignorant—but you still rejected the Author of life.

At some point, the explanations run out.

You did what God said not to do.

And until that lands, grace stays abstract—something distant, something theoretical.

But when it lands, it becomes personal.

“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Acts 3:19)

Your attention isn’t neutral.

Someone is always trying to claim it—advertisers, algorithms, voices with something to sell. Even this video is asking for a moment of it.

That struggle isn’t new. In Acts of the Apostles, a man named Philip entered Samaria and competed for the attention of a city already captivated by Simon—a sorcerer people treated like something divine.

And yet, the city turned. Even Simon listened.

There’s a deeper question sitting in that moment—one that doesn’t resolve easily.

We’ll take it up together tomorrow.

Our faith can feel fragile, like the right gust of doubt could send it crashing down. But how do we strengthen our faith? C. Michael Patton’s book, “Increase My Faith”, offers a helpful breakdown of the essence of faith. This book helps you diagnose the source of fragility so that you can “work out” your faith and grow your confidence in the truth.

The Sanhedrin could have put Christianity in in checkmate with one key move. But it’s a move they didn’t make.
