We've got yet another reason to thank God. 👏 The WA Department of Revenue is CLOSING THEIR CASE against our church, in which they claimed that we owed an additional $80,000 in Excise Tax. This is a huge relief and a big answer to prayer. 🥳
In early 2022, our church sold a building to Catalyst Charter School in Manette and paid all the associated Excise Tax. In May 2025, the Department of Revenue called us to say that they believed the building was worth substantially more than what we sold it for and that we now owed additional Excise Tax plus interest and late fees. 😱 After six months of us saying, "No we don't," and the DOR saying, "Yes, you do," we hired an appraiser to provide a retroactive appraisal on the building. He reported back that the sale price was accurate, and the DOR said, "OK, that works for us. Case closed." 😮💨
We want to thank all of YOU for your prayers as we navigated this sticky situation, but most importantly, we want to THANK GOD. "This (called) for patient endurance on the part of the people of God (Rev. 14:12)," but as always, God saw us through. He hasn't brought us this far to drop us.
