The Blake House

The Blake House We are a 10 month drug and alcohol regeneration center for men.

Our goal is to provide a place of refuge for men struggling with addiction and allow Christ to regenerate them physically, spiritually, and mentally.

Many of the men who come to us have, at some point in their past, already asked Jesus into their hearts. Yet we all feel the pull of the world. We’re wounded by the things it throws at us, and we often find ourselves in relationships or circles that aren’t always good for us. The desire to fit in is real. As God’s creation, we’re wired for connection and acceptance.

But the men who find their way to The Blake House have simply wandered a little too far from the narrow road that leads to a godly lifestyle and a relationship with our Lord and Savior. And just as the angels in Heaven rejoice when a soul returns to Christ, so do we. Here, we are a brotherhood. We lift each other up. We pour into our fellow brothers in their time of need. We celebrate the wins.

Rededicating your life to Christ is on top of the win board around here. We are incredibly proud and celebrating Nathan for taking a bold step of faith and recommitting his life to Christ.

Life at The Blake House isn’t easy. It’s a place of deep reflection where we face our emotions head on, work through pain, and come to terms with who we became during active addiction. Our days are filled with prayer, tears, and the steady pursuit of a better future.

But even in the midst of that hard work, there are moments of rest and joy. On one of those off days, we were blessed with an invitation from our good friend Patrick to spend time fishing and grilling at his lakeside property.

We’re incredibly grateful for the love and generosity Patrick pours into the guys. Opportunities like this mean the world to a group of broken hearted, hurting men who are putting their all into working their program.

Thank you, Patrick, for all that you do. Your compassion, your heart for this community, and your love for every man who walks through our doors do not go unnoticed. You truly reflect what it means to live out your faith.

This past weekend, we had the privilege of celebrating our alumni and graduates from this past year. Listening to testimony from our graduates and their families was a powerful reminder of the freedom and transformation taking place in the lives of these men.

We also took time to honor our longtime Board Chairman, Mike Patterson, CCIM Patterson, whose leadership helped open the doors to our facility 15 years ago, both literally and spiritually. His impact on this ministry has been lasting, and we are deeply grateful for his service.

Moments like Sunday remind us of the real work Christ is doing through The Blake House. Lives are being changed, and hope is being restored.

A special thank you to The Grove at DeFoor Farm for hosting us once again. Your continued partnership and support mean more than we can say.

Not every journey at The Blake House ends the same way. We see many faces come and go, and we’re grateful for every opportunity to walk alongside men as they move from feeling lost to building a growing relationship with Jesus. We are proud of every man who rises to the challenge—starting from day one.

Today, we want to highlight one of our most recent graduates.

Meet Xzavier.

When Xzavier first arrived at The Blake House, he carried a heavy chip on his shoulder. He felt the need to prove himself in every situation, and it seemed nearly impossible for him to let anyone into his heart. He struggled to open up, receive guidance, or even express what he was feeling.

But by the time he reached the Inner Healing phase of the program, something had shifted—he was fully bought in. During this phase, the men share the deepest parts of their hearts in a small group setting, creating space for God to meet them in their pain through prayer. Xzavier not only opened up about some of the most painful moments of his life, but he also invited God into those places—and experienced real, divine healing. God began to transform his heart, and the real Xzavier emerged from the hardened shell shaped by years of disappointment.

As he entered the Identity phase, his excitement only grew. With each new truth he discovered about his identity in Christ Jesus, Xzavier leaned in even more. He put in the work required to leave his old life behind and remained committed all the way to the finish, seeking God’s will for his future.

We are incredibly proud of Xzavier and excited to see where God leads him next as he steps into this new chapter of his life.

Huge shoutout to Perimeter Roofing for absolutely crushing it—helping us restructure and install a brand-new roof on all of our staff housing!

We’re beyond grateful for the partnership and the top-tier quality they brought to this project. This is what it looks like when people come together to build something that lasts.

Be sure to check out the finished work, plus the interview and collaboration led by our Executive Director, Nate Stephens.

Grateful for a powerful time of connection and purpose as we were visited by our partners at Vision Warriors.

At The Blake House, it’s bigger than a program—it’s a journey. Seeing our alumni take the next step into sober living with Vision Warriors is what it’s all about: growth, accountability, brotherhood, and freedom.

We’re proud of every man who chooses to keep going, keep fighting, and keep building a new life. This is what collaboration looks like—lives being changed, together.

God designed us to walk together. In recovery and in life, we build each other up, carry each other’s burdens, and work together to accomplish the mission in front of us. At The Blake House, every task completed is a reminder that healing happens in community.

It's hard to believe we're already at the end of 2025. As I look back on this past year, I'm grateful for your steady support of the mission God has entrusted to The Blake House. Because of your faithfulness, men are finding hope, purpose, and lasting freedom in Christ. It's a privilege to watch Jesus transform lives and to partner with you in that work.

Lauren and I welcomed our baby girl, Ember, this year. Gunnar is now 9, River is 3, and Ember is already 8 months old. When I look at my family, I feel nothing but gratitude. The Blake House is where I found true freedom in Christ, and without that restoration, I would not have the blessing of these precious gifts from God. You are part of the story God is writing in my life and in the lives of so many others.

As many of you know, our scholarship program is the heart of this ministry. Because of your generosity and the support of our thrift stores, 21 men received full financial assistance this year. They were able to begin their journey of restoration at no cost. Earlier this year, 11 men walked across the stage at graduation. Many have reunited with their families, stepped into ministry, or joined our thrift store team as part of their long-term recovery and growth. We also celebrate six men who completed the program this year, each stepping into a renewed life filled with purpose and hope. These stories show what God is doing and the impact your support continues to make.

Looking ahead to 2026, our most urgent need is the purchase of a new box truck for our thrift stores, totaling 64,000 dollars. These trucks are vital for daily operations: picking up donations, moving goods, completing estate sale cleanouts, and keeping the stores running at full capacity. The thrift stores generate 65 percent of the ministry's annual revenue and provide residents with hands-on training, real work experience, and the life skills they need to grow in discipline, confidence, and responsibility. A reliable truck is crucial not only for sustaining the ministry and funding scholarships but also for continuing to give our men the opportunities that shape their future.

We ask that you join us in finishing 2025 strong. Together, we can continue transforming lives, restoring families, and sharing the love of Jesus with men who are searching for hope and healing.

A year-end gift of any size makes a direct impact. Every donation brings us closer to this goal, strengthens our thrift stores, supports our scholarship program, and helps more men experience life-changing freedom through Christ.

Thank you for your continued support of our mission to free men from addiction through a personal relationship with Jesus.

Jack, pictured on the far right, shared his story as another powerful reminder of how your support changes lives. We hope his journey encourages you the same way it has encouraged us.

My name is Jack.

When I arrived at The Blake House, my life had no real hope left in it. I was only existing. I used drugs, gambling, and whatever else I could find just to numb the emptiness. People told me growing up that I had a lot of potential, but my addiction swallowed all of that. I felt like a failure, and the shame of not living up to who I thought I should be pushed me deeper into drugs and alcohol. Instead of helping, everything got worse.

I lost my job and got evicted. I was out of options. I could either be homeless with no support from anyone, or I could take one more shot at putting my life back together. I didn’t choose The Blake House because I had hope. I chose it because I was desperate. I was living as an atheist or maybe an agnostic, and I wanted nothing to do with God. That attitude carried through my first two months. I did the classes and groups, but I never prayed. I rolled my eyes at anything spiritual.

The night before I finished the last assignment needed to graduate Orientation, a counselor sat me down and asked me to consider giving faith a chance. I had run out of answers. Nothing I had built my life on had worked. So I tried. That choice opened the door to the most life-changing ten months I’ve ever had. The program pushed me harder than anything in my life, but it gave me more than anything I’ve ever done. My new faith carried me through those challenges, and I leaned on the guidance of Travis, Andrew, Nate, and every staff member who poured into me.

Now, almost three years after I began this journey, my life is better than I ever thought possible. After graduating TBH, I moved into a solid sober living home, connected with the Collegiate Recovery Program at Kennesaw State, and started school there. I went from being terrified to step back into the world to actually feeling equipped for it. The staff at TBH gave me a real runway to succeed.

My life is full now. I balance being a full-time student and working, but this is the most fulfilling season I’ve ever lived. I owe that to the relationship with Jesus that I found at The Blake House. My family relationships have healed. I spend real time with them. They’re not bracing for the next phone call. My mom can sleep at night again.

I am a better man because of my time in Bremen at The Blake House. I’m grateful for everything God did during and after my time there, and I honestly can’t imagine where I would be without this program.

Stories like Jack’s are a powerful reason to give this season. If you’d like to support the mission directly, you can give online using the link below.

We genuinely cannot thank you enough for your support. Your love and financial contributions not only sustain our mission and ministry, but they are also a cornerstone.

We will be sharing RJ's story with you today. He graduated from our program in 2014!

Romans 5:17 says, "For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ."

RJ has received that abundant grace because of your support. Today, he is more successful than he could have ever imagined when entering the program back then. He is an incredible example of the power of Christ’s love and the grace He gives.

When RJ first came to The Blake House, he was broken, lost, and alone. Through this process, he didn’t just find freedom from addiction; he discovered an entirely new perspective on life. He received abundant grace.

Today, RJ is a different man. He is married to his wife, Rebekah, and together they now have three beautiful children: Azalea, Emberly, and Rhema Jade. His story is a living testimony of what God can do through the support of people who believe in restoration.

We would ask for your support to continue to share this grace with a small gift or whatever you feel led to contribute, so we may continue sharing this grace to so many others who come through our doors.

If you can give more, it will go a very long way. If you can give less, it still makes an impact. Every gift matters. Thank you for making stories like RJ's possible.
