It was good to have our retired Bishop DiMarzio with us all weekend to preach the Mission Appeal. And thank you for your generosity as always.

Happy Sunday. A lot of talk (and suggestions) since the Rockaway Times published an article regarding a neighboring Church.

Since 2020, all three of our churches have had a security plan in place. I will not discuss with anyone what technology and resources are deployed outside and inside the churches. We do not rely on Public Safety or the local precinct, we rely on parishioners seeing something and saying something immediately...not months later. Panic and speculation creates a distraction from a real threat. I thank retired Detective Anthony Burti who continously conducts threat assessments on our buildings and programs. Let us continue to pray for one another. -Fr. Gelfant
