St. Michael's Episcopal Outreach

St. Michael's Episcopal Outreach The Outreach Committee initiated and supported parish efforts to help those in need, focused on heat, shelter, health, and food insufficiency.

As of mid 2024, St. Michael's Vestry now fulfills the Outreach role. The Outreach Committee of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church initiates and supports efforts through which we, committee and parishioners alike, can manifest our Christian beliefs by helping those in need, locally, nationally and internationally through charitable organizations.. This work involves not only our “treasure,” but also our “time” and “talents.”

These purple flags in front of the Brattleboro Municipal Building represent the individuals experiencing homelessness in southern Windham County within the last year. Thanks to the kind staff at FoodWorks for including us in their work this week, and kudos to their staff and volunteers who work so hard year round to care for all of us. Thanks to all who donated to the BOB Drive again this year, and to all who served the community in any way on January 17th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
And no, it's not too late, we can serve any and every day, and honor Dr. King any and every day!

After the veritable MOUNTAIN of household items and supplies you all donated for St Michael's Refugee Resettlement Ministry, as well as directly to ECDC, our local resettlement agency, you still found the heart to donate another 15 bags of household supplies and toiletries, which were delivered to ECDC, Foodworks, Loaves and Fishes, and St. Michael's Prison Ministry.

THANK YOU!

Sign up to donate all kinds of support for new Afghan Vermonters! These are our partners, so whether you donate and volunteer through St. Michael's, through MCC, or through our partners at Carry Me Home, it all helps in the same effort to welcome our new neighbors.

St. Michael's Interfaith Refugee Ministry is actively seeking volunteers to work with our specific sponsorship group on all kinds of tasks with "our own" family of refugees and behind the scenes. Sign up to get more information here: https://forms.gle/eK5jbjhZD5JLynoq9

Our Refugee Ministry has enough household goods for our two sponsored families, so additional donations of those items are best given through MCC right now. A limited range of clothing and footwear in excellent condition are still being collected by Carry Me Home (https://www.facebook.com/CarryMeHomeWithLove/) - please check needs list here: bit.ly/2YgKSXg.

Calling all Southern Vermonters: Let's give our 100 new Afghan neighbors a warm welcome!

Brattleboro's ECDC Multicultural Community Center is celebrating International Migrants Day (December 18) by launching an appeal for donations of financial support, furniture, home goods & winter jackets/boots. Our new neighbors will start arriving the week of January 3rd. Take action NOW!
