Join us for a reception for the Southern Vermont artist members of the Vermont Watercolor Society on Sunday, September 14th, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Their paintings are on view through November 30.

Twenty artists from the Connecticut River Chapter of Vermont Watercolor Society will exhibit their work at All Souls UU Church in the West Village Meetinghouse from September 7 through November 30. The public is invited to an opening reception on Sunday, September 14, from 3 - 5 p.m. Beverages and light refreshments will be served. The reception is free and open to all.
With more than 240 members, the Vermont Watercolor Society is dedicated to promoting the awareness and appreciation of watercolor to its membership at all levels of ability and to the larger community by providing opportunities and venues for participation, education, fellowship, and exhibitions.
The CT River Chapter is comprised of more than 80 artists from regions of Vermont and New Hampshire that surround the southern segment of the Connecticut River. This exhibit will feature 30 original watercolors by nearly 20 artists.
The West Village Meeting House is located at 29 South Street in West Brattleboro. The exhibit will be open to view on Sundays between 12 -2 p.m. and additional times by appointment. For more information and exhibit hours, visit ascvt.org, email [email protected] or call 802 -254-9377.

Lifelong mixed-media collage artist Elizabeth Lewis is showing some “puzzling bird miniatures” at All Souls Church in West Brattleboro during the month of August. A reception for the artist will be held on Sunday, August 17, from 11.30 am to 1 pm.

Elizabeth is a resident of Putney and a member of ASC. She had her first show at the then-named West Village Meetinghouse in 1981, the year she moved to Vermont from Los Angeles, California.

This show of collages features recently-created chirpy chicadee-dee-dees that mimic human speech and broadcast the artist’s playful personal conversations. Although some of the decorative elements came as part of a larger and more predictable formal jigsaw puzzle, the real bird characters flew out long before the puzzle was complete, and became happy wall-dwellers. Elizabeth lives with them, and with her old cat, who only dreams of feathers.

All Souls Church is located in the West Village Meeting House, 29 South Street, West Brattleboro, up the hill from the West Brattleboro Fire Dept.
