ADULT FORUM
The Adult Forum meets from 9-10 on Sunday mornings in the Meeting Room.
Today: On June 7th, the forum will focus on St. Michael's Wednesday morning Bible Study, which takes place at the Brattleboro Food Coop. Several parishioners who regularly attend those Wednesday sessions will lead the forum. After discussing the form and structure of the Wednesday study, they will speak personally about how this group has enriched and strengthened their spiritual lives. They will also invite the other forum attendees to share stories of their own bible study experiences, past and present.
Next Sunday, June 14: St. Michael’s recently moved to a new kind of church record keeping solution called Realm Connect. It offers some exciting opportunities to support the way you are involved in our church and will make it easier for our church family to connect with each other. At this Forum on June 14, an introduction to Realm Connect will be provided. Come and learn how parishioners can use Realm Connect to become more engaged and connected with other St. Michael’s parishioners.

VESTRY LISTENING HAPPENING TODAY!
Once a month, two members of the Vestry (St. Michael's leadership board) are available at Coffee Hour following the 10:15am service. This Sunday will be the day, and Rosie Wojcik and Michael Hightower will be there to listen! Look for their sign, and don't be shy - ask questions, offer suggestions, give feedback. The Vestry members are meant to be a point of connection between parishioners and leadership.

ARE YOU TECH SAVVY?
ST. MICHAEL'S SEEKS EARLY ADOPTERS!
We are in the process of rolling out a new system, Realm Connect, which will allow members to access the photo directory, manage their giving, and stay up-to-date on events that are happening at church. There's an Adult Forum scheduled for June 14 to help introduce Realm Connect to the congregation, but we're also looking for a group of early adopters to go through the process of signing up and learning the ropes. These people will help us to better understand what's confusing and what works really well, which in turn will help us make the process seamless for the rest of the congregation.
If you're willing to be an early adopter, please contact Susie (parishadmin_at_stmichaelsvermont.org) or Annamarie Pluhar by June 7.

FREE BOOKS FROM OUR LIBRARY!
With the help of parishioner Ann Ely, we are re-organizing the church library! We have many books we would love to pass along to other homes. Please stop by the library to take a look at the books marked "for folks to go through." Feel free to stop by on a Sunday or during the week and take as many as you want. We will have them available until June 14th. The library is accessible during regular office hours: Tuesday-Friday, 9-1.

SUNDAE SUNDAY CELEBRATION
FOR KIDS, TEACHERS, AND FAMILIES!
JUNE 14 AFTER THE 10:15 AM SERVICE, THE RECTORY YARD
Come and celebrate the end of school with an ice cream celebration in the Rectory Yard on next Sunday! All kids, parents, families and teachers are invited to join in a time of fellowship, play, bouncy house and food. We especially want to honor our Godly Play, Upper El and Youth teachers by showering them with our thanks for their dedication and love for St. Michael’s children and youth.

SUMMER FUN FOR ST. MICHAEL’S KIDS BEGINS ON JUNE 21
Yay Summer! Once St. Michael’s formal Sunday School comes to an end on June 21, we want to keep building community with our children and youth by offering summer activities during the first part of Sunday church. Summer Fun will take place the Undercroft and depending on the ages of the group and the weather, we will have a story, simple snack, crafts, outside time and/or games. Volunteers will rotate planning an activity and supervising the kids and will have the additional support of the nursery attendants, Nora and Kaitlin. The kids will join the congregation at the Peace so that they can participate in Holy Communion and the Blessing.
We need volunteers to help with this ministry! If each parent could sign up for one Sunday this summer, we could have the summer covered! Please sign up in the Common Room or email Susie at parishadmin_at_stmichaelsvermont.org or sign up in the Common Room.

TWO SUMMER BOOK STUDIES
EXPLORING THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH
BEGINS JULY 1! WEDNESAYS, 10am, IN THE MEETING ROOM
Exploring the Episcopal Church is a great class for those who are new to St. Michael’s, new to church or not new, but want to brush up on the basics of theology, church history, scripture, prayer and worship in the Anglican tradition. Summer is a great time to study for those who have a lighter work schedule during this season (educators, for example). We will meet in person on Wednesdays (July 1, 8, 15, 22, August 5 & 19) from 10- 11:30am. If you cannot attend in person, but would like to participate via Zoom, this is also possible. Please let Mary Lindquist know if you would like to participate: mary_at_stmichaelsvermont.org

ZEN GIFTS TO CHRISTIANS,
TUESDAYS, 4-5:30PM, July 7-August 11
At St. Michael’s Lenten Study last winter on Christian mysticism, some folks got in a conversation about the connections that can be found between different religions in practices like meditation and deep prayer. One participant, Karin Bleecker, recommended a book she loves, Zen Gifts to Christians by Robert Kennedy, SJ. There was great interest within the group in reading this book, so we are offering a book study this summer!
Robert Kennedy is one of three Jesuits in the world who answer to both the titles "Father" and "Roshi," or venerable Zen teacher. In 1991, after ten years of practicing Zen meditation, he was installed as a Zen teacher at the recommendation of his teacher, Bernie Glassman. This book is specifically addressed to Christians interested in Zen meditation as well as more experienced Zen practitioners. It is structured around 10 well-know 12 Century watercolors telling the story of the Ox Herder, which is an allegory of the journey of psycho-spiritual development that people of all faith traditions can relate to.
The study will be facilitated by Karin Bleecker, with the assistance of Mary Lindquist and Laura Frey. If you are interested in joining the book study, please order the book and read the first two chapters. Zen Gifts to Christians was published in 2000, so you may need to buy the book second-hand online. We will meet on Tuesdays, 4-5:30pm in the Chapel. Please let the church office know if you would like to participate, [email protected]
