When others fail, we are quick to demand a penalty or at least an extended timeout,
yet when it’s our own failure we want to be restored quickly and put back in the game. The truth is, most of us would have benched Peter after his epic failure of lying and denying, however, Jesus saw fit to make him the spokesperson for the salvation message on the Day of Pentecost.

The message of Pentecost is not only one of salvation, but also restoration. The fact that Peter preached it also shows us that failure isn’t final and your moments of shame don’t have to take you out of the game.
