Trinity Episcopal Church of Branford

Trinity Episcopal Church of Branford Our mission statement, "It is our Mission that all may know themselves beloved". We are a mix of Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists and more.

This may be brief, but it speaks volumes about who we are as individuals and as a community of faith. Trinity is an inclusive church welcoming those baptized in other faiths as well as Episcopalians. We are singles, couples, and families with children. We are a church community worshiping God together and reaching out to those in need.

To my beloved Trinity Church family,

Oh my goodness… thank you from the bottom of my heart for the beautiful flowers, your kindness, and your prayers as I prepare to go in for heart surgery. Your thoughtfulness truly touched me in a way I cannot fully put into words. The flowers were completely unexpected, but the love behind them was felt immediately.

In moments like these, you realize how blessed you are to have a church family standing beside you. Knowing that so many wonderful parishioners are praying for me gives me strength, peace, and hope. God’s love shines brightly through all of you.

I love this church, and I love each and every one of you for the compassion and support you have shown me. Thank you for reminding me that faith, friendship, and love are some of life’s greatest miracles.

May God bless Trinity Church and all of its beautiful people abundantly.

With heartfelt gratitude and love,
Charlie Farricielli Ariana and beautiful Svea 🌹💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕❤️

Holy Week is kicking off wonderfully! For Palm Sunday, the older youths played a card game made by Rachel Pinti, our Assistant for Early Spiritual Education and Families Ministry. The Bible learning game is a mash-up of “Pictionary” and “Telephone,” where students draw and interpret different scripture prompts. Yesterday, we worked through another story of Jesus gathering crowds: the story of Zacchaeus climbing the tree to see Jesus, and Jesus sharing a meal with him.

“The game is a way of interacting with the story, while also explaining how certain things are quite literally ‘lost in translation’ when compiling the Bible,” says Rachel.

Certain details remained consistent in other ways. For example, the first student picked a card requiring her to draw Jesus, and she chose to draw Him with a halo around His head to make Him distinct among other stick figures. The other players followed suit—without sharing words but, instead, sharing the understanding that Jesus is the Holy One. Each student took turns guessing, ultimately putting together a story of their own.

Rachel says, “In the last round of the game, I reveal the original story to the players. We talk about where and why things went awry, and what about the story reflects something in our own life experience.”

When students were waiting for their turn to come, they made crosses out of palm leaves 🌿☀️

Last Sunday, Feb. 15th, was a joyous day for Trinity! We were honored to welcome Bishop Jeff Mello to church while we celebrated four receptions, three confirmations, two baptisms, and a blessing of our new handcrafted banner—thanks be to God! Our youths and families enjoyed a breakfast before church with the bishop. After the service, they made Mardi Gras masks while Bishop Mello shared for parishioners and visitors why he “loves being Episcopalian” during church coffee hour. It was a wonderful day for Trinity, as well as for all those in the Body of Christ. 👏🎉🙌🎊

Congratulations to all—Jessa, Zaiden, James, Julia, Dave, Brian, John, Josh, Marcia, Leila, and Janet! We extend our gratitude to Bishop Mello for visiting, Father Tom, Jane, and all the teams that helped make this joyous day happen, and a special “thank you” to Peter Otis for these beautiful photos!
