TRUE REPENTANCE: IT’S MORE THAN “I’M SORRY”

At Holy Mountain of God, we believe true repentance is more than feeling bad about what we’ve done. It’s more than saying, “Lord, I’m sorry.” True repentance is a genuine turning of the heart, mind, and life back toward God.

Repentance says: “God, I don’t just want You to forgive me I want You to change me.”

It requires us to acknowledge our sin, confess it, humble ourselves before God, and make the decision to turn away from what separates us from Him.

Because there is a difference between being sorry about the consequences and being sorry that our choices grieved God.

And genuine repentance produces FRUIT.

📖 Matthew 3:8
“Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.”

If we have truly turned, eventually there should be evidence of the turn. Our thinking changes. Our choices change. Our conversations change. Our responses change. Our desires begin to change.

We may not become perfect overnight, but we should not be comfortable remaining the same.

📖 Acts 3:19
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…”

Repentance isn’t God trying to push us away. Repentance is God’s grace calling us BACK! 🙌🏾

Back into alignment.
Back into obedience.
Back into fellowship.
Back into His presence.
Back to the life He has called us to live.

TRUE REPENTANCE DOESN’T JUST SAY, “I’M SORRY.”
TRUE REPENTANCE SAYS, “LORD, I’M TURNING.”

😂 “JIMEEN & CANDACE: TELL YOUR NEIGHBOR”

PREACHER: 🗣️ “Look at your neighbor and tell your neighbor”

CANDACE: 😑 Immediately looks straight ahead.
“Lord… please don’t let her hear him.”

JIMEEN: 👀 Slowly turns toward Candace.

CANDACE: “Jimeen. Don’t.”

JIMEEN: 😏 “Don’t what?”

CANDACE: “You KNOW what.”

PREACHER: 🗣️ “I SAID TELL YOUR NEIGHBOR!”

JIMEEN: 🏃🏽‍♀️💨 “WELLLLLL!!! Since he said it TWICE”

CANDACE: 😩 “Girl, you have OTHER neighbors!”

JIMEEN: “But God assigned ME to YOU!” 😂

CANDACE: “No He did not.” 😭

JIMEEN: Gets even closer.
🗣️ “NEIGHBORRRRRRRR!!!”

CANDACE: “Why are you IN MY FACE?! I can hear!” 😂😂😂

JIMEEN: “I’m just being obedient! The Bible says obedience is better than sacrifice!” 🙌🏽

CANDACE: “That scripture has NOTHING to do with this!” 😭🤣

JIMEEN: “Take it up with the preacher. I don’t make the rules.” 🤷🏽‍♀️😂

CANDACE: Looks toward the pulpit.
“Pastor, PLEASE stop telling her to tell me stuff!” 😭😂

😂 Same church. Same Word. VERY different reactions. All Love.❤️

JIMEEN: “See you next Sunday, neighbor!” 😁

CANDACE: “Not if I change seats.” 😑

JIMEEN: 👀 “I’ll find you.”

God, ANYTHING that is poisoning my future… GET IT OUT! 🙏🏽🔥

If I don’t have the strength to kill it, kill it for me.
If I’m struggling to release it, help me let it go.
If it’s already dead, help me bury it even if I don’t want to.

Because sometimes my spirit knows it’s over before my heart is ready to accept the funeral.

God, don’t let me keep resuscitating what You allowed to die. Don’t let me keep digging up what You told me to bury. And don’t let me carry yesterday’s poison into tomorrow’s promise.

Kill the unhealthy attachment.
Kill the appetite for what keeps hurting me.
Kill the need to go back and check on it.
Kill the fantasy of what I wanted it to become.
Kill every desire in me that chooses what’s familiar over what’s fruitful.

And when my feelings start negotiating with what You’ve already told me to release, give me the courage to obey.

Whatever can’t go where You’re taking me, God, don’t let me drag it there.

If it has to end-let it end.
If it has to break-let it break.
If it has to leave-let it leave.
If I have to grieve it-help me grieve it.
And if I have to bury it-give me the grace to bury it AND STOP VISITING THE GRAVE! 🙌🏽

I trust You with what I lose through obedience.

Anything poisoning my future-GET IT OUT!
Anything threatening my purpose-CUT IT OFF!
Anything already dead-HELP ME BURY IT!
And whatever You have waiting for me-HELP ME WALK FORWARD AND RECEIVE IT!

IT’S TUESDAY… although it sure FEELS like a MONDAY! 😩😂

But here’s the WORD for today:

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING… AND FEELINGS CAN BE TOO.

Just because it feels like nothing is changing doesn’t mean God isn’t moving.

Just because it looks like you’re behind doesn’t mean you’re out of position.

Just because it feels like you’ve been waiting too long doesn’t mean God forgot what He promised.

Just because it looks impossible doesn’t make it impossible.

And just because you woke up FEELING like it’s Monday… 😂
doesn’t change the TRUTH that it’s TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2026!

🔥 THE WORD FOR TODAY IS: TRUST THE TRUTH, NOT THE FEELING.

Feelings change.
Circumstances change.
People change.
What you see can change by this afternoon.

BUT GOD DOES NOT CHANGE!

📖 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7

Maybe what you’re looking at right now doesn’t resemble what God told you.

KEEP WALKING.

Maybe you don’t FEEL strong today.

KEEP WALKING.

Maybe you can’t SEE how it’s going to work.

KEEP WALKING.

Because faith doesn’t require everything to LOOK right before you believe God is working it out.

So HMOG, get up, shake off that Monday feeling, and tell yourself:

🗣️ “I WILL NOT LET WHAT I FEEL OVERRIDE WHAT I KNOW!”

I know God is faithful.
I know God is able.
I know God is still working.
I know His Word is still true.
And I know WHAT GOD SAID HAS MORE AUTHORITY THAN WHAT I SEE!

🔥 HMOG, GET READY -THE VOICE OF THE HOUR IS COMING FORTH! 🔥

On Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 12 NOON, we are making room for Evangelist Theresa “Resa” Hunt to stand and deliver what God has placed in her!

And HMOG, there are some things WE ALREADY KNOW!

We KNOW she has studied the Word. 📖
We KNOW she has spent time learning, digging, asking questions, sitting under teaching and allowing the Word to get down inside of her.

We KNOW she is anointed to bring the Word forth. 🔥

We KNOW she is chosen.

We KNOW there is something in her that God has been developing through every lesson, every prayer, every storm, every act of service, every season of waiting and every moment she kept showing up.

And WE KNOW Resa! 😂🙌🏾

So we already know what’s going to happen…

She may start out finding her place.
She may have to get her footing.
She may have to settle into her stance and realize, “Wait a minute… GOD REALLY SENT ME UP HERE!”

But baaabyyyy… 😂🔥🔥🔥

ONCE RESA FINDS HER FOOTING…
ONCE SHE GETS HER STANCE…
ONCE THAT WORD STARTS FLOWING…

IT’S ON FROM THERE!!!

🔥 WE GOING UP! 🔥

Because this isn’t about putting on a performance. This is about watching a woman who has studied the Word now stand on the Word she studied!

A woman of prayer.
A woman of the Word.
A woman of purpose.
A woman who SERVES.

A wife, mother, grandmother, Leader of the Evangelists, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study Leader, usher, Women’s Shelter Servant, student and, above all, a servant of God.

And through it all, her testimony remains:

“I put my hand in the Master’s hand and found I can’t get a better friend.” 🙌🏾

WHEW! Because when you’ve discovered that for yourself, you’re not preaching about a God somebody told you about—you can stand and talk about the God whose hand held you!

Through the storm.
Through the fire.
Still here.
STILL HIS.

And perhaps that’s part of what makes this moment so special.

We’re not expecting perfection.
We’re expecting PURPOSE.

We’re not waiting for a performance.
We’re waiting for the WORD.

We’re not looking for somebody else’s preaching style.
We want RESA- chosen, anointed, equipped and becoming everything God called HER to be!

Because this journey has been about seeking after the God who sought after her, rescued her and saved her.

And she’s still becoming.

✨ FOREVER TRANSFORMING.
✨ Still growing.
✨ Still studying.
✨ Still serving.
✨ Still surrendering.
✨ Still becoming the best version of herself.

Same God.
Same Resa.
BIGGER PURPOSE. 🔥

📖 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles…” - Isaiah 40:31

So HMOG, don’t come just to watch.

COME EXPECTING.

Because once this woman of God plants those feet, finds that place in the Word and realizes “THIS IS MY ASSIGNMENT…”

🇺🇸 HAPPY LABOR DAY FROM HMOG! 🛠️✝️

Today we honor the hands that work, the hearts that serve, and the people who keep showing up.

But here’s a WORD for somebody today:

Don’t become so busy working that you forget WHO you’re working for. 🙌🏽

📖 Colossians 3:23
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”

Your labor is not just about a paycheck. Your work can be ministry.
Your service can be worship.
Your integrity can be a testimony.
And the way you show up when nobody is watching can still give God glory!

Somebody may never stand behind a pulpit, but they preach every day through their work ethic, kindness, service, excellence, and character.

So on this Labor Day, REST if you can. ❤️
REFLECT on how far God has brought you.
And when it’s time to get back to work, go back remembering:

🔥 THE HANDS THAT WORK ALSO PRAY! 🔥
