Word for today:

Joy is a tremendous source of strength. If a person is down and discouraged, almost any obstacle or hardship is enough to incapacitate him or her. “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (Proverbs 17:22).

This can be true for anyone. “Emotional energy” is extremely powerful. This is why coaches give motivational speeches to their players. A person who is “up” will accomplish far more than a person who is “down.” Joy provides strength. A person suffering from a physical ailment or pain but who is filled with joy will survive much better than a discouraged person with the same condition. Joy can even make a person forget his pain and limitations. In fact, it is better to have joy in suffering than despair in ease and luxury.

Joy is available in a variety of places. A person can receive joy from other individuals and from circumstances. The primary difference between the joy that is provided by people and circumstances and the joy that comes from the Lord is in consistency and duration. People will fail. Circumstances will change. A person whose joy and strength are from these sources will inevitably be inconsistent. That person will be up and down, riding the waves of alternating joy and sadness, encouragement and discouragement.

However, when a person’s source of joy and the strength it provides is the Lord, then he can be even-keeled and constant, just as God is constant. Many verses in Scripture speak to the joy that God provides His people:Psalm 16:11: “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Trust God and have a blessed day.

Word for today:

Understanding what God is about to do where you are is more important than telling God what you want to do for Him. What good would it have done for Abraham to tell God about his plans to take a survey of S***m and Gomorrah and go door-to-door witnessing the day after God was going to destroy the cities?

What good would you do by making long-range plans in your church if God brings judgment on your nation or church before you implement them? You need to know what God has on His agenda for your church, community, and nation at this time in history. Then you and your church can adjust your lives to God, so He can move you into the mainstream of His activity before it is too late.

Though God will probably not give up a detailed schedule, He will let you know one step at a time how you and your church need to respond to what He is doing. Kingdom life is learning to walk with and doing things God's way.

When you look for me, you will find me. When you wholeheartedly seek me, Jeremiah 29:13 GW

Dr Martin Luther king once said, "Even in the inevitable moments when all seems hopeless, men know that without hope they cannot really live, and in agonizing desperation they cry for the bread of hope. When our days become dreary with low-hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that is able to make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows. In the midst of outer dangers I have felt an inner calm and known resources of strength that only God could give. In many instances I have felt the power of God transforming the fatigue of despair into the buoyancy of hope.”

I do not think the devil cares how many churches you build, if only you have lukewarm preachers and people in them. - Charles Spurgeon

We do not want, as the newspapers say, a church that will move with the world. We want a church that will move the world. Jesus walked on the earth in perfect unity with his Father’s will. He did whatever he saw the Father doing and he destroyed the works of the enemy everywhere he ministered.

He was God made flesh. Can it get any better than that? Yet, Jesus prayed a prayer at the end of his earthly life that has yet to be answered. At his last supper with his disciples he prayed a prayer for all who would believe in him: “that they may all be one; even as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be in Us; that the world may believe that Thou didst send Me.” (John 17:21)

Today we come to gather in one faith one joy one hope to destroy the work of the enemy. There a blessing in the storm.

Those who say that they live in him must live the same way he lived.1 John 2:6 GW

Jesus, we confess as a church that we want to know You more. We commit to prioritize discipleship, to actively participate in the study of God’s Word, personally and corporately. God, come alongside us, and mold and make us to become more like Jesus. May our leaders labor and strive to present this body mature in Christ. Help us to grow! Give us a passion and zeal for the Bible and prayer — feed us, strengthen us and move us when necessary so that we are men and women of faith, full of grace and truth. Amen.

We live in a world that is not the way God intended it to be when He created it. When sin entered His perfect creation, all of creation was subject to its fruit. Let’s face it, discouragement is not from God, but it is one of Satan’s tools that gives us a feeling of hopelessness.

The Psalmist David experienced discouragement during his life and openly wrote about it to encourage us. Consider the beginning of Psalm 13, where David cries,

How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
Having sorrow in my heart all the day (v.1-2)?

Certainly, we have all felt like this from time to time. When the pressures of daily life mount up and we see no way to relieve that pressure, we may think that God is nowhere around.

But, David has a lot more to offer than heartfelt lament. His writings always conclude with a confession that God is the One who supplies all of his needs—even when disappointed.

But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me (v.5-6).

The God who is sovereign over all of creation and loves us can provide hope to our hearts when we ask for help. If you are feeling discouraged, pray for God in confidence to remove those feelings, and begin to praise Him for His love and care. Jesus has broken the chains of disappointment and freed us from the grips of Satan.

Be encouraged!

My brothers and sisters, be very happy when you are tested in different ways. You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. James 1:2‭-‬3 GW

God is making things happen for you even when you don't see it, feel it and not evident. God is working on your prayers. Stay focused on the Kingdom, there a blessing in the storm.

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! God has given us a new birth because of his great mercy. We have been born into a new life that has a confidence which is alive because Jesus Christ has come back to life.
1 Peter 1:3 GW
When we spend quality time with God in prayer, He endures us with His power, with boldness and with utterance to speak His Word . And when we do that , He stretches out His Hand confirming His Word with signs and wonder. The only source of knowing God and His promise is the written Word of God. Submit to God word and become His living signs and wonder today.

Whenever we have the opportunity, we have to do what is good for everyone, especially for the family of believers. Galatians 6:10 GW

We are no longer in competition with anyone for anything, be it love, favor, peace, happiness or success. We have an abundant never-ending source of supply because God almighty is our provider. Remember as you read the bible you must keep in mind that every word is placed there with God's guidance. God doesn't merely forgive us or save us. He actually enjoys us even in our darkest moments. Submit to God's word and never give up or give in.
