Seeds Of Faith Community Garden

Seeds Of Faith Community Garden Welcome to Seeds of Faith! Join us the second Saturday each month, Oct–June, 8–10am, as we volunteer to grow and donate over 2,000 lbs of produce each season.

We are a community garden located behind Bay Life Church. We have 60 raised vegetable gardens. Half of the garden is rented out to individual growers from the community. The other half of the garden is used to raise produce for our local food pantries. Last growing season, over 2300 pounds of fresh produce was donated to local non profits.

🥕🌱 OUR "GROW A ROW" PROJECT 🌱🥕

Have you checked out our newly-launched Grow A Row Project? We're inviting growers to plant an extra row or garden bed for their neighbors! 💚👩🏽‍🌾

Add a special Grow A Row packet of Narvik F1 carrot seed to your order for just $1, while supplies last. (Packets are limited to one per order, tax and shipping not included.)

We’ve chosen carrots for our Grow A Row Project because they’re delicious, raw or cooked; they’re packed with beta-carotene, fiber, antioxidants, and other important vitamins and minerals; they’re easy to grow and harvest; and they store well. Narvik F1 is a high-yielding, versatile carrot variety, with great taste, crisp texture and excellent storage potential.

Here’s how to get involved:

🥕 When planning a garden or growing space, designate a portion of it for donation. Any amount of donated produce makes a difference.

🥕 Find a local recipient. Check with local food pantries to see if they accept fresh produce donations. Sites like Ample Harvest can help locate organizations who accept donated produce.

🥕 Harvest & donate safely. Harvest produce when it is fresh and clean. Wash it well but do not process or package it, unless otherwise instructed.

Head to our blog for more about this new project! bit.ly/4shtoli 🌱🥕

“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

Soil pH is a hidden factor that makes a big difference. It determines how well plants can access the nutrients already in the soil. Even when a garden looks healthy on the surface, the soil underneath may be out of balance—causing nutrients to be “locked up.”

In the same way, our lives can look fruitful on the outside, while something deeper is out of alignment. Just as plants struggle when the soil isn’t right, we can struggle when our foundation isn’t where it should be.

A soil test reveals what’s really going on beneath the surface and gives us the chance to restore balance so things can truly thrive. God works the same way, caring about the condition of the heart, not just what can be seen.

Have you tested your soil lately?

🍉 Abiding in the Vine: A Lesson from the Watermelon Tendril

When a watermelon is ready, the tendril closest to the fruit turns brown and dry. It’s nature’s signal that the melon has stayed connected long enough to be nourished and sweetened on the vine.

Watermelons only ripen while attached to the plant—once picked, they stop developing. That’s why timing and connection matter.

It’s a beautiful picture of John 15:4–5:
“Abide in Me… for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Just like the watermelon depends on the vine, we depend on Jesus. Stay connected to the Source, and fruit will follow.

Stay rooted. Stay abiding. 🙏

🤩 81.7 pounds of fresh produce donated to ECHO today.

Collards, onions, potatoes, squash, and plenty of cucumbers were harvested and shared. We are grateful for the Lord’s provision and the opportunity to be His hands and feet, serving others through the harvest.

We also had a wonderful consultation with Joshua Young of to help improve our soil, and we are looking forward to even higher yields to better support our community.

🇺🇸Today we pause in the garden to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. Because of their sacrifice, we are able to gather, grow, and serve together.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13

We remember. We honor. We give thanks.

🌱 Growing strong: Poinsett 76 cucumbers at the community garden!

Our raised beds are alive with Poinsett 76 cucumber vines. These disease-resistant slicing cucumbers are known for their crisp, sweet flavor and strong performance against common issues like powdery mildew and downy mildew—perfect for our Florida growing conditions.

Even more exciting, we’ve harvested over 150 cucumbers from just 2 beds, despite the water challenges we faced earlier this year. What a blessing to see such abundance!

🥒 Harvest tip:
Poinsett 76 cucumbers are best picked when they reach 8 inches long and 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter. At this stage, they’re dark green, firm, and have the best texture and flavor.
