Wisdom is a treasure of unmeasurable value, yet it is free of charge. It is not something hidden or unsearchable: wisdom is like a person calling out loudly in the streets for all to hear. Yet why is wisdom not a common commodity? Because true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. Join us tonight at 6 for our fellowship mean, and for the devotional afterwards. The children's class will be learning about wisdom from the book of Proverbs.

What is the chief end of man? This is the very first question of the Westminster Shorter Catechism. And the answer? To glorify God and enjoy Him forever. This is the central theme of life--or it should be. We were made to have God at the center of all things, and when man failed to do that? Well, then life became difficult, filled with sorrow, suffering, pain, etc. Yet God has promised to make all things new through His Son Jesus Christ. So how does the believer respond to all aspects of life from this Biblical perspective? The book of Psalms depicts people crying out to God in their pain, fear, anger, and anguish. It also records their songs of praise and rejoicing in His faithfulness and majesty. In this way, the Psalms leads us in our own songs as we cry out to God from souls that experience the same things.
Tonight's children's lesson will take them through the Psalms to begin this important lesson. Join us tonight at 6 pm for our fellowship meal, and devotions afterwards

"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:13). The word of God does not give us promises of an easy life, yet it does show us that our God is faithful and near to those who are suffering--indeed, that our suffering has purpose. The book of Job calls the Christian to wait on the Lord in the midst of trouble, knowing that all He does is just, right, wise, and for the good of His people.
Join us tonight for our fellowship meal at 6 where the children will learn this important lesson from the book of Job.
