Nettie Reid and the Honorable Congressman Bennie Thompson

At the sold-out Hamer-Winter 2026 awards ceremony on May 22, 2026, an outstanding member of the Rankin County Democratic Committee was honored for their remarkable contributions. Nettie Reid received the Fannie Lou Hamer award, which recognizes a Democratic Party member who exemplifies the enduring spirit, work, and ideals of Fannie Lou Hamer.
