I grew up in the North Philly and South jersey 17 Tioga lane and in the area of (30th & Lehigh.). During a time when everyone treated each other like Family! We went outside🏡 to play⚽🏀⚾, we got dirty and we didn't eat fast food🍔🍟🍕....we ate sandwiches🍞, 🍬, potato chips, pickles, etc. We played Simon Says, Mother May I, Red Light/Green Light🚦, Hide and Go Seek🙈, Jacks, Marbles, Dice🎲, Tag, Kick the can, Touch/tackle football🏈, Hopscotch, Double Dutch and Checkers, Cards🃏 and raced against each other in the street, we made prank phone calls and knocked on doors and ran. We played the dozens and jived on everybody I MEAN EVERYBODY 😂😂😂 There was no bottled water, we drank from the water hose or the faucet. We ate cereal and watched 📺cartoons on Saturday mornings, walked to school🏨, to the corner store🏪 and rode our bikes🚴 for hours without a cell phone📱. We weren't AFRAID OF ANYTHING not even The Police👮. If someone had a fight, that's what it was...a fist 👊 fight. Kids didn't have guns 🔫when I grew up. The street lights were your curfew. School was mandatory. We watched our mouths🙊 around our elders because we knew If you DISRESPECTED any grown up you're gonna get HIT with whatever was close. If a neighbor saw you acting up, they beat your butt THEN told your parents who beat you again for embarrassing them.
Ps.. We had some fun too!
Copy & Paste with your neighborhood if you're proud that you were taught morals and respect and will never forget where you came from!
