"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness..." Matthew 6:33
One of our core distinctive at Redeemer Church is “kingdom-mindedness." We are for and about the kingdom of God, and we love to partner with people and institutions that share that same burning in their bones.
Mason County Young Life is as kingdom-minded as they come. And so many of our fellow brothers and sisters are doing the deep, abiding work of bringing joy, community, and life-altering gospel hope to the teenagers in Mason, TX.
Young Life is a non-denominational, support-raised parachurch ministry that partners with local churches and is dedicated to building relationships and introducing the gospel to middle school and high school students. (For all you Brady OG's, this is a similar ministry to KLIFE). If you are looking for a gospel-centered, missional ministry to generously give to, we invite you to follow the link in the comments!
What you'll see in these pictures is a story of joy, hope, and tenacity. The crew brought a skit and stage games like they would on any Young Life night, complete with full [malfunctioning] costumes and laughter. We heard from one of the Young Life teens, Bella Brown, who shared how a community shaped around compassion, care, and presence has pointed her toward Jesus and changed her life. Redeemer elder, Jamie Wallace, passionately pointed to the ancient hope of Psalm 121:1-2, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth..." as the antidote for the modern crisis of phone addiction and social media despair in our teens.
Thain and Morgan Martin, we are proud of the work you are doing in Mason. We know that youth ministry can be messy, hard, and comes with every level of ups and downs, but the Lord sees your faithfulness. We pray this blessing from Hebrews 12:20-21 over you: Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
