Preparing for worship...I read these words from Paul.

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God," 1 Corinthians 1:18.

Father...thank You for our Savior Jesus...thank You for Your word...and thank You for being able to understand...for it is by faith we walk...and by faith we are guided ever towards You...Amen.

As I read and prepare for worship...I am inspired.

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger," Proverbs 15:1.

Father...may we guard our words... may we speak in gentleness and respect to one another...and may we show others Jesus through our speech and actions...Amen.

As I sip my tea and prepare for worship...these words from Matthew come to mind.

"For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you," Matthew 6:14.

Father...may we be found forgiving others as You have forgiven us... may we look for the good in others instead of the hurt, anger, and wrongs they may or may not have done...may we see one who is like us...created in Your image...Amen.

Preparing for worship ...I read words from the Psalmist.

"The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it," Psalm 24:1.

Father...we gather and gather worldly things about us...we strive to achieve and advance...let us instead remember...all around us is Yours.. let us be good stewards...let us lay up treasure which cannot be taken away...let us look to You for our strength...guide us O Loed...Amen.

Preparing for worship...I read these words from Paul.

"If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing," 1 Corinthians 13:3.

Father...in a time that seems so divided and harsh...may we remember...we are to love...love You and love others.. may we be found doing so...for without love...we are truly nothing...Amen.

Preparing for worship, I read this reminder from Matthew.

"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven," Matthew 7:21.

Father...may we be found doing Your will...living in Your ways.. may we not simply talk about being Your child...may we show others we are by our life's walk...Amen.

Sipping my tea, preparing for worship...Paul reminds me...today's trials and conflicts should not effect our walk.

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us," Romans 8:18.

Father...so often the trials of today, if allow to, effect our walk of tomorrow...may we be found strong in Your word...walking in Your will...ever striving toward the goal of our reward...Amen.

As I prepare for worship...these words of the psalmist come to mund.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise," Psalm 111:10.

Father...may we turn to You for guidance, understanding, and gain wisdom...let us set aside our earthly fears and worries...for You are our Creator and redeemer...Amen.

Preparing for worship, I read this reminder from the Psalms.

"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,"
Psalm 1:1.

Father...may we be found walking in the center of the path You have laid out for us...may we be strong in our faith...and may we be an example for others who are searching for You...Amen.

Sipping my tea and preparing for worship...I read familar words from Paul.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Father...as we give ourselves to you...may we remember...this world shouldn't control our walk...may we understand Your will, recognize Your path, and have the strength to endure...Amen.

As I prepare for worship...I read words from Paul...I am strengthened.

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith,” Romans 1:17.

Father...this day may our walk reflect our faith...and may we gain strength from Your word...Amen.

Sipping my tea in preparation for service...these words from Peter encourage me.

"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil," 1 Peter 3:12.

Father...may we gain strength and courage daily as we walk with You...may we feel Your presence...may we sense Your nearness...and may we glorify You in action and deed...Amen.
