First Christian Church is a congregation of people who love Jesus Christ. Our endeavor, is to lift up Jesus as the Savior of the world. We are people who acknowledge our need for Christ and His church. We try to follow the pattern of the early Church in the book of Acts. That is why we celebrate weekly teaching from the Bible, communion, and prayers. (Acts 2:42) We honor all people who choose to place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, making Him the King of their lives.

First Christian Church of Bradenton is truly blessed with a strong and dedicated team of elders. After thoughtful consideration, our leadership determined that it would be meaningful to hold a formal Recommitment and Ordination Service on April 12, 2026.
Four of our elders, who had previously been ordained—either at First Christian or in other congregations—chose to stand alongside a newly selected elder in a special group ordination service. It was a powerful expression of unity, humility, and shared commitment to the Lord’s work.
The service was led by Pastor Ray Kelley. During this meaningful time, the congregation affirmed their support and prayers for our leaders, and the elders publicly expressed their desire to serve and lead under the guidance of our Heavenly Father.
We thank God for faithful leaders who are committed to shepherding His church with wisdom, integrity, and love.

For the third time, members of First Christian Church have joined together to prepare seed packets for missionaries serving around the world.

Working alongside Hope Seed Ministry, we have packaged over 2,000 seed packets each time—helping provide a practical and meaningful resource for families in need.

We are grateful to partner with several congregations in the Bradenton area as we work together to support families in growing their own food and sustaining their communities.

The members of First Christian Church were excited to have the opportunity to provide various personal items for the HIS Girls Discipleship Ministry. Some of our folks were able to contribute financially, while others enjoyed the opportunity to shop for items to bless these young ladies.
This ministry provides assistance to girls in both their personal and spiritual lives. The girls are required to work in the ministry’s thrift store one day a week and participate in daily Bible studies.
The HIS Girls Thrift Store is located at 902 8th Ave West in Bradenton, Florida.
We thank God for the opportunity to partner with ministries that are making an eternal difference.

We were blessed.
Our Choir did a wonderful job as they presented the musical “the Color of Christmas”. As they sang members built a display using the colors – Green, Silver, White, Gold, and Red. Other members read an explanation of why the color represented the spirit of Christmas.
This Advent worship in song and joy was a great preparation for celebrating the birth of Christ Jesus.

First Sunday of Advent – The Candle of Hope

This past Sunday, we began our Advent journey by lighting the Candle of Hope, remembering the hope Jesus brought into a dark and waiting world.

Shane and Sheila led us beautifully in lighting the candle, followed by special music from Emile and Bill that lifted our hearts and reminded us of the hope God gives us as we walk daily with our Lord Jesus.

Pastor Ray shared a message describing the conditions of the world when Jesus first came, and he encouraged us to never lose sight of the Hope we have as we look forward to His promised return.

Second Sunday of Advent – The Candle of Peace

This coming Sunday, December 7th, we will focus on the Candle of Peace, celebrating the “peace that passes all understanding”—a priceless gift from our Heavenly Father to every believer.

We invite you to join us this Sunday at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church,
1815 18th Avenue, Bradenton, FL,
as we reflect on the true Peace that Christ brings.

Come and worship with us!

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”
(2 Corinthians 9:15)
The King James Version calls it His “unspeakable” gift. Both words remind us why every follower of Christ has a reason to give thanks—especially in this Thanksgiving season. God gave us Jesus, who died for our sins. Truly, this is a blessing beyond description.
This Sunday, November 23rd, First Christian Church will dedicate our entire worship service to giving thanks for God’s innumerable blessings.
During the service, we will invite our church family to share how God has blessed them—spiritually, physically, and even during seasons of suffering and discouragement.
Yes, God is always present. He walks with us through every chapter of life and continues to pour out grace in ways big and small.
We invite you to join us for this special time of Praise, Worship, and Sharing:
Sunday, November 23rd at 10:30 AM

Dry Bones – Hope for the Hopeless
This Sunday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m., Pastor Ray will bring a message from Ezekiel 37:1–14 entitled “Dry Bones – Hope for the Hopeless.”
God gave Ezekiel a powerful message of encouragement for the Children of Israel while they were in captivity in Babylon. That same message offers hope and renewal to our world today.
We also welcome a representative from Loving Hands Ministry, who will share briefly about their Bible-based outreach helping young men overcome life-controlling addictions.
Come and join us this Sunday at First Christian Church, Bradenton—a place of hope and restoration in Christ.
