There’s something about daily manna…

God never asked them to gather for a lifetime. He asked them to come back every.single.day.

That’s what this is. This isn’t just a devotional. It’s a companion for learning how to read one chapter of the Bible a day.

✔️Not pressure.
✔️Not perfection.
✔️Just provision.

We’re in Psalms 49 today — Wisdom & Poetry, Volume One, and I can tell you this… every single time I open His Word, He shows up…Not always how I expect, but always exactly how I need.

This isn’t about reading to check a box.
It’s about showing up hungry… and letting Him feed you. Come get your manna in the morning. 🤍

“Put on your sword, O mighty warrior! You are so glorious, so majestic!”
—Psalm 45:3 (NLT)

Reading that this morning immediately brought to my mind the armor of God in Ephesians. “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place… Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” —Ephesians 6:14–17 (NIV)

Before my son reunified with his bio-mom, this was something we made a priority together. We spent time memorizing the armor of God so those words would be tucked away in his heart. Even if he doesn’t fully understand it yet, he’ll have it. What I didn’t expect was how much memorizing it would strengthen me too.

Life reminds us pretty quickly that we need that armor every single day.
Truth.
Righteousness.
The Gospel.
Faith.
Salvation…and the sword of the Spirit…
which is the Word of God.

If a king going into battle needed his sword…how much more do we need ours?

It’s interesting how this works. One day I can feel completely fine and at peace, and the next day I feel like I’m wrestling again. Sometimes, for me, discouragement doesn’t even need a reason to spiral. Sometimes I just get down.

Even David, a man after God’s own heart, had to encourage his soul when he got downcast and discouraged. Even though he had seen God move mightily in his life time after time, he still had to replace whatever lies he was believing with truth.

What a reminder of where our help comes from. Just like David is reminding himself every time he needs encouragement, we should too... the deep longing and need we have within can only be filled with Christ alone.

Too often, if I’m not careful, I start looking to things in this world to fill that deep longing. In reality, my contentment can only come from the Lord.

Everything else is temporary. He is the source.

Ezra 1 isn’t just a history moment… it’s a reminder of how God moves in our lives right now. He doesn’t just release His people — He restores what was taken and provides what’s needed to rebuild what was lost. Even through unexpected people and places.

If you’ve been in a long season of healing, rebuilding, or waiting for God to restore something in your life, this book is for you.

Come read Ezra with us . Let’s walk this out together.

The mission field wasn’t far away. It was right where God placed them.

“The first of the exiles to return to their property in their former towns were priests, Levites, Temple servants, and other Israelites… They were responsible for ministering at the house of God.”
— 1 Chronicles 9:2, 13 (NLT)

And the same is true for us.
At the school pick-up line.
In the workplace.
Around the dinner table.

💭 “Lord, prove it. Show me. How will I know?” I’ve prayed this more times than I’d like to admit.

Hezekiah asked the same thing I have so many times…he wanted a sign. The beautiful part of it for me was recognizing God didn’t rebuke him—He gave one.

Sometimes faith looks like steady trust. Other times it looks like shaky prayers and whispered questions. Either way, God meets us right where faith and longing collide.

The enemy doesn’t always need a new strategy—he just needs the high places we refuse to tear down. 🌿🔥

Those footholds lead to compromise… and compromise leads to lukewarm faith. Jesus said, “Because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:15–16)

It’s time to confront what feels “normal” but isn’t!

“Don’t be afraid,” Elisha answered. “We have more on our side than they have on theirs.” —2 Kings 6:16

Sometimes what we see in the natural feels overwhelming. The enemy makes it look like we’re surrounded and out of options. But when the Lord opens our eyes, we realize heaven’s armies are already surrounding him.
Fear may be our first reaction, but faith is the supernatural one. 🙌 When we shift from panic to expectation, we begin to ask: “Okay Lord, what are You going to do with this?”

Today, may your eyes be opened to see His covering, His provision, and His protection fighting for you. You are never abandoned, never unprotected, never outnumbered.

“Then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave their fathers.” —1 Kings 8:34 AMP

This verse took me straight back to Mexico. I was 19, serving with YWAM, and the call was clear: full-time missions.

I was ready to say yes AND yet—He said no.

It confused me at the time. I thought this was what Kingdom obedience looked like. Over the years, I’ve learned something: God did call me into full-time ministry. It just looked different than I expected.

Now, all these years later, I see how He’s been faithfully sending me into “nations” I never saw coming—into real estate offices, living rooms, coaching calls, and early morning Bible studies with women across the country.

I don’t know the whole story yet,
but I know the One who does.

📖 One chapter a day. That’s it.

It’s not about checking a box. It’s about learning to recognize God’s hand in your real, everyday life—even when it feels like everything’s stacked against you.

Today’s reading was 2 Samuel 22, and wow… what a reminder:

“My God is my rock, in whom I find protection… He is my refuge, my savior—the one who saves me from violence.” —2 Samuel 22:3 NLT

We created a devotional to go with our daily Bible reading—not to replace it. It’s simple and written to help you apply the Word to whatever season you’re in.

The prayer from today’s devotional: Lord, thank You for Your protection and the peace that comes from it! I do not have to worry about anything. With You, I have all I need — thank You.
Help me see Your hand in my life where the enemy may be trying to cover it up. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
