Ever wonder how to answer your atheist friend or family member? Ever wonder if God is good why does He allow evil? Then this class is for you. Tonight begins our Introduction To Apologetics Class at Oasis. The class is open to anyone 15 and over. It will begin at 7 pm sharp at the Church.

What a day! THANK YOU to all the group leaders today for making it an incredible day of ministry! We had over 100 people sign up for groups today and it was thanks to a lot of prayer and connecting with people during Groups fair! A couple of things that are going to be very important going forward that we want to point out:
1. Getting people signed up is only the beginning. Within the next 48 hours it is going to be crucial to connect with each person that signed up for your small group. God led them to sign up but the enemy is trying to convince them not to go!
2. Make sure to communicate using all avenues. Text, email and phone call are all appropriate. Connecting with your people is important. They have to see Jesus in you and find something in common with you.
3. Continue to recruit! Not everyone that signs up for your group will show up. That’s ok, don’t be discouraged. Continue to recruit! If you need help please reach out to Bethany and I and we will help you with our teams of recruiters. We can also help you with some tips to get additional people.
4. Lastly, but most importantly, PRAY! Pray for the people on your list that signed up and that God would continue to water the seed in them. Also be praying for your small group and that He will prepare you to lead people to the Lord and disciple people within your group! God is going to use each of you in ways you’ve never imagined and we are praying that it happens! This also means that the enemy is going to try and derail you. Don’t allow that to happen. Jesus wants to do great things through you!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

As the end of 2018 approaches we are extremely excited about what 2019 will bring! We know God has extraordinary things in store for our church and Small Groups is going to be a big part of that.

There are two dates we need you to mark on your calendars. Sunday, JANUARY 27th (after second service) we are having a Groups kick off meeting. This kick off will be full of fun, give aways, and awards! In addition, Javier will be sharing the vision and structure of groups going forward.

In order to lead a small group during the new Spring semester you must attend the meeting on the 27th. The Spring Semester will start the week of February 17th and will end the week of May 12th. If you are unable to attend the meeting in January you will need to wait until the summer or fall semester to start your small group. If you made plans far in advance we completely understand but please reach out to us directly in advance so that we can catch you up to speed.
If you have children child care will be provided but please rsvp so that we can get a headcount.

Did someone say, “What about Groups Fair?”

Well, I’m glad you asked. That brings me to the second date for you to mark on your calendars. Sunday, FEBRUARY 10th we will hold our first Groups Fair event of the year! We will need your excitement and enthusiasm for our small groups to shine brighter than ever on that day!

Last, but not least. We encourage you all to join us during the 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting in the month of January. Praying specifically for Oasis and Oasis Small Groups. Creating community is the heartbeat of our church and Small Groups has to be a safe place where we learn, grow and serve our community. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 27th!

ThanksLiving Update:
Hi Everyone we are so close to our goal of stuffing 50 backpacks that will be used to Bless the homeless during the colder part of the year.... So far we have received 43 out of our goal of 50 backpack/drawstring backpack..... so big thanks to those that are helping us to make this goal....
The following items we have also reached our goals of 50 or more (woo hoo)
and they are:
Bibles
Ponchos
Razors
Toothbrush with case
Washcloths
2 in1 Shampoo/Conditioner
Bars of Soap
Hats
First Aid Kits
Gloves
Feminine Pads
What we still need:
Blanket/Fleece Throw we have 25 out of 50 (Walmart has some for $2.50) if anyone know of them cheaper please let us know
Combs we have 36 out of 50
We have 8 out of 50 rolls of Toilet Paper
Backpacks/Drawstring Backpack we have 43 out of 50
Hot Hands Had Warmers we have received 30 sets out of 50
Toothpaste (I forgot to add this to our wish list) we have 0 out of 50
We plan packing these Saturday then delivering them afterwards..... we also have lunch meals we will be handing out at this time. (let me know if you are interested in packing or delivering with us.)
If anyone has anything else that they want to donate please get it to me by Friday or I can come to you.

Thank you to everyone who made it out last night to our small group leaders meeting. We don’t take the sacrifice of your time lightly and we appreciate the groups that you lead today. At the heart of everything we do is winning the lost, and discipling people within our groups. As a community of small group leaders we have to look out for one another, and live a balanced life between home life and ministry. Most importantly we have to make it all about Him. What we accomplish we accomplish together so everything has to be about “we” and not “me, my, I.” We learn together, we grow together and we serve together. We are excited about the future of small groups and helping create community within the church while also “leaving the 99 to reach the 1.” Our goal is that we taylor fit groups that fit the needs of our church family and our community. We believe that there is a strong foundation in place with strong committed leaders and we are excited for what is to come! Much love to all of you and thank you for welcoming us into the fold! In the meantime if you are on here and do not lead a small group today or you lead a small group but are interested in having more of a leadership role within the small groups team please message Bethany Boy or myself.
