Hebrews 3:1–6
1.Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2.Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3.For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.
4.For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5.And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
6.But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

In the opening section of the chapter, there’s a comparison between Jesus and Moses. Believers are called “holy brethren, partakers of the calling,” with Jesus as our Apostle (the One sent) and High Priest (representing us before God). Verses 1 and 2-6 show that while Moses was faithful in God’s house, Jesus is faithful over God’s house—because He built it. The contrasts are clear: Moses was a servant; Jesus is the Son. Moses brought the Law; Jesus brings life to the soul. The takeaway is to place confidence in Christ, not tradition; to tie our identity to the Builder, not the building; and to measure faithfulness by whom we follow, not by what we achieve.

Hebrews 2:18
Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Jesus knows what it feels like to be hungry, pressured, tempted, tired, and tested. That’s why He can help us when we struggle.
He doesn’t just forgive — He understands.

Hebrews 2:11
For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Jesus calls us His brothers and sisters. The Holy One is not ashamed to stand beside the redeemed.
You are family to the King — walk like royalty, live like grace.

Hebrews 2:9-10
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Jesus humbled Himself, taking on human form, stepping below the angels, so He could die for us. His crown of thorns became our crown of life. The cross was His descent — and our deliverance. As the Captain, the leader, and the pioneer of our salvation, He went through suffering first so we could follow Him into glory. He doesn’t lead us around trials, but through them, to victory.

Hebrews 2:3
“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;”

Salvation is not something small or casual — it’s great because it cost the blood of Jesus. To neglect it is to ignore the greatest gift ever offered.
Don’t treat grace lightly; treasure it daily.

Hebrews 2:1
"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip."

Faith doesn’t fail overnight — it drifts when we stop paying attention. The writer warns us to hold tightly to what we’ve heard about Christ. Don’t let truth slip through your fingers.
Anchor your heart in the Word before the current of the world pulls you away.

Hebrews 1:8
"But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom."

God the Father calls Jesus God.
His throne is eternal.
His kingdom is unshakable.
His rule is righteous.

Everything in this world changes — governments, culture, emotions, circumstances — but Jesus remains the same.

When life feels unstable, stand on the One whose throne will never move.

Hebrews 1:4-5
"Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?"

Angels are powerful.
Angels are glorious.
But Jesus is better.

He has a better name.
A higher authority.
A greater glory.

We don’t pray to angels.
We don’t worship angels.
We worship the One whom angels worship — Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
