Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the courage of all who responded with strength and selflessness.
The Salvation Army responded at Ground Zero, the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, serving those who rushed toward the crisis and those who remained for the long recovery.
From meals and supplies to prayer, emotional care, and practical support, Salvation Army officers, staff, and volunteers stood alongside first responders, recovery workers, military personnel, and grieving families.
Twenty-five years later, their stories remain a powerful reminder of what it means to serve.
