1 Peter 5:5 God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble..

Pride is the very first sin that was ever committed that caused lucifer to be kicked out of heaven. Its a place in your heart where one tries to be arrogant, self-sufficient and rebellious. Those who insist on elevating themselves and refusing to trust God as sovereign, good and trustworthy will find their way opposed by God.

📖 Psalm 10:4 even tells us that the proud are so consumed with themselves that they make no room for God, all his thoughts are, «there is no God.»

The fact that we are separated from God eternally and the only way to inherit eternal life is through Jesus Christ is a huge stumbling block for prideful people. This is solely due to the fact that pride will make people refuse to repent of their sin and make Jesus the Lord over their life. Prideful people don’t want to be told what to do because they want to be their own god of their own life. This will keep many people from receiving salvation and God will oppose those very people!

Instead, God gives grace to the humble and those who humble themselves before God will find Gods favor. This kind of humility doesn’t de-value yourself or make you look weak but instead it shows your deep recognition and dependence on the Creator. When you submit to God and admit your sins and weaknesses, Jesus responds by pouring out His favor, forgiveness and strength.

Repent and seek the Lord Jesus with a humble and contrite spirit and He will heal you and strengthen you.

Salvation is a beautiful gift from God, but receiving it is our conscious choice. Jesus already paid it all on the cross at Calvary - He reached out His hand. Water baptism, then, is our public declaration back to Him. It’s the exact moment a person tells the world, the church, and the enemy: “I’ve made my choice. My heart no longer belongs to sin. I am following Christ.”

The word «baptism» (from the Greek baptizo) literally means «to submerge» or «immerse.» When you go under the water, a real burial takes place in the spiritual realm. Your entire past, your mistakes, hang-ups, addictions, guilt, and old sinful nature are left right there at the bottom. But the most beautiful thing about God is that death is never the final story.
Coming up out of the water, you are symbolically raised to life with Christ! It’s the ultimate triumph of a new life - where old chains are broken, and what lies ahead is a clean slate written by God’s love❣️

We are all equal before God. It doesn’t matter how old you are, what you’ve been through, or what your past looks like. The blood of Jesus Christ washes over everyone who comes to Him with a sincere heart. We don’t have to «earn» His love - it has already been freely given to us.

📖 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Why being a “good person” isn’t enough...

We often think that if our good deeds outnumber our bad ones, we’re totally fine. We try to be kind, do honest work, and hope for the best.

But the Bible shows us a different reality: none of us can earn a ticket to Heaven on our own.

📖 “All our righteous acts are like filthy rags.” (Isaiah 64:6)
Even our best days can’t wipe away the mistakes we’ve made against a holy God.

Thin about it: if you get caught speeding, you have to pay the fine. You can’t just tell the officer, «But I was a good driver yesterday!» It doesn’t work that way. The price for breaking God’s law is much higher - it’s eternal separation from Him, what the Bible calls the second death.

📖 “For the wages of sin is death...” (Romans 6:23)
📖 “Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)

But that’s exactly why Jesus came. He didn’t come to give us a checklist of new rules. He came to pay the fine we couldn’t afford. When He died on the cross, He took our punishment so we could walk completely free.

You don’t have to perform for Him, and you don’t have to earn His affection. His arms are wide open right now. Stop trying to fight your battles alone. Drop your heavy burdens and just rest in the love of the Father who has been waiting for you all along.
