Bring your students and your families as we celebrate the beginning of a new year of catechism and pray for the teachers who have answered the call to lead and teach our children in their faith.

The work of a Catechist is a beautiful but often challenging vocation. Let us surround our teachers with our prayers and ask God to give them wisdom, patience, and grace as they guide our children closer to Christ.

🙏 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time 🙏

Today’s Gospel reminds us that God does not call only the perfect. He calls those who are willing to place their faith and trust in Him.

Jesus saw beyond Peter’s shortcomings and recognized his faith and potential, saying:

“You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church.”
-Matthew 16:18

Like Peter, we may sometimes feel inadequate or unworthy, but Christ looks at our hearts and continues to call each of us to serve, grow, and strengthen His Church.

Today the Church celebrates the feast of Blessed Michael McGivney.

His legacy is found not only in the Knights of Columbus, the organization he founded, but in the countless lives strengthened through faith, charity, and fraternity. His example reminds us that everyday holiness can have an extraordinary impact when it is rooted in love for Christ and service to others.

Whether you’re a Knight, a family member, or simply inspired by his witness, today is an opportunity to thank God for the life of Blessed Michael McGivney and ask for his intercession.

Saturday Morning Prayer

St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church
Knights of Columbus Council 8223

Heavenly Father,

Lord, we come before You on this beautiful Saturday morning from St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with grateful hearts, asking for Your guidance, protection, and blessing.

Today, we especially lift up our Brother Knight Clay Flores as he travels to San Antonio to complete his Fourth Degree Exemplification. Lord, be with him throughout his journey. May he be welcomed with brotherhood and fellowship by his fellow Knights, and may You guide him as he takes this important step in his journey of faith and service. Help him accomplish the goal placed before him today, and return him safely home to his family and our Council.

Lord, we also lift up Father Sonny Aryanto as he is formally installed as the shepherd of our parish today. We thank You for bringing Father Sonny into our parish family and into our community.

As he begins this new chapter in a new parish, a new church, and a new community, guide him with Your wisdom and strengthen him through Your grace. Protect him and give him the courage, compassion, patience, and faith needed to shepherd Your people. May we receive him with open arms, love, respect, and Christian fellowship, always supporting him in his priestly ministry.

Father, we ask You to bless each and every Brother Knight of St. Mary Magdalene Council 8223. Strengthen our brotherhood and guide us in accomplishing the work You place before us. May everything we do be for the greater glory of God and in service to our Church, our families, and our community.

Watch over our Brother Knights who are far from us and unable to be here today. Protect them wherever they may be, bless their travels, and bring them safely home to their families.

Lord, we pray for our community, our parish priest, our congregation, our Brother Knights and their families, and all our brothers and sisters throughout the Catholic faith.

May we always have the courage to serve, the humility to follow Your will, and the faith to place our trust in You.

We ask all these things through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
