Bozeman Dharma Center

Bozeman Dharma Center Practicing meditation, mindfulness, Dharma study and inquiry, as well as a venue for classes, workshops, retreats, and Buddhist practice groups.

The Bozeman Dharma Center is the culmination of an idea that has been simmering in this community for many years. Finally, in 2013, the right combination of support, leadership and volunteers has made it possible to establish a shared home for Bozeman’s Buddhist groups – a place of refuge and silence where we can offer a full schedule of sitting practices, instruction and study of Buddhist teachin

gs. The programs are meant to inspire practice and honor the inner life – solitude and silence, creativity and growth, compassion and wisdom. In these fast-paced and extroverted times, there is a need for serene and quiet places to nurture our spiritual lives and to foster inner growth. Whether you are just beginning to explore meditation and Buddhism, or have been practicing for years, you are welcome to join us in quiet sitting times, sangha meetings, study groups, weekend retreats and other programs. Meditation is compatible with other religious traditions and it is not necessary to forgo any religious affiliation to explore these practices. All are welcome regardless of religious affiliation, race, sexual orientation, political or socio-economic circumstances. It is a serene, beautiful space for the practice of meditation, study, and inquiry. BDC provides a common home for Bozeman’s Buddhist groups, a venue for classes, workshops, and retreats, and a spiritual refuge for the cultivation of wisdom and compassion. Everyone is welcome in the spirit of an open heart and mind. If you have any questions about the Dharma Center or our programs, please email us at [email protected].

The Bozeman Dharma Center, in collaboration with Bozeman Insight Community, with be hosting our second residential retreat at Camp Mimanagish with teachers Dave and Shannon Smith in September.

Registration for this retreat is now open! Go to bozmeandharmacenter.org to reserve your spot.

During this silent retreat, we will develop practices that unite the heart and the mind. By combining the Four Foundations of Mindfulness with the practice of Metta, we learn to balance moment-to-moment awareness with the qualities of kindness, care, joy, and equanimity. As your body and mind start to settle, a natural, intuitive wisdom begins to emerge—a process that helps shift your energy toward a sense of wholesome intention and genuine contentment.

Experience a relaxing sound journey crafted from instruments carefully selected and played in harmony. On Friday June 19 from 7-8 PM, listen to the soft melodic tones of a handpan, tongue drums, a monochord, therapy harps, chimes and singing bowls. Find your awareness flowing through each note or as a symphony of sound playing as you relax and meditate.

As a musician, Michael Rodriguez loves to share his compositions and play of various instruments for sound therapy, sound baths, yoga, meditation practices or simply for the sake of playing. He is a long time practicing Buddhist.

Stephanie Wagner, a teacher with Tergar International, will join us on Zoom for a nourishing half-day retreat exploring the body as a doorway to awareness and innate joy. This retreat invites you to discover how simple moments of embodied presence can reveal a natural sense of ease, openness, and well-being that is already within you.

Together, we will gently explore practices that help you reconnect with your lived, felt experience—using the body not as something to fix, but as a direct path to awakening. Whether you are new to meditation or deepening an existing practice, you are warmly invited.

Close your eyes for a moment and take one slow, steady breath.
Notice the air moving in and out. How do you feel?

In taking even a brief pause, we can create space to choose how we we want to be and how we want to act in this one moment.

If you believe that spreading mindfulness and meditation in the Gallatin Valley feels important, consider taking this moment to support the Bozeman Dharma Center.

From 6 PM today until 6 PM tomorrow, you can donate at www. GiveBigGV.org.

There are a lot of amazing organizations in our community asking for donations today. We hope that you support the causes you care about!

With gratitude 💚
