We are overwhelmed with the virus that has shut down businesses and put several in the hospital. We have cancelled services meeting at Skene Baptist Church this coming Sunday January 7, 2022. Pray for each other and remember to worship Jesus daily, wherever we are on a daily basis. We love all of you and desire that you be safe and healthy. Love all of you and may God give you mercy and grace according to your need!

In Christ,

It has been months since I posted in this Skene Baptist Church FB account. I was very sick earlier in the year and am still recovering. But I am much better but am so excited about the things we have coming up in our church.

VBS will be July 19-23 from 6-8:30 p m. we are blessed to have workers that are committed to work on behalf of the children. Our Team Kid program is back up and going and we praise God for all who make this possible. There has been beginning Sunday 07/11/2021 our schedule for Sunday mornings will be—Sunday School at 9:00 & worship at 10:00, this will be tried for 3 months and if we like it we will keep it. All the rest of the schedules are the same.

Please plan to come and get involved so we can maintain a strong voice for Jesus in the near future. Please pray for those in special needs in our church community. We know that God hears and answers our prayers and that He always has our best interest at heart.

See you Sunday at 9 a m for Sunday School and 10 a m for Worship Service.

Love in Christ

It has been several weeks since I sent out a message for our sweet people at Skene Baptist Church. We have been praying for all who have experiencing trials. Some have had surgery and others are taking cancer treatments and other things. Let us not forget to pray daily for each other. We have been continuing to have services at 10:00 each Sunday. We have mask for safety and hand sanitizer to help us to worship in a safe environment. Until many are vaccinated, we will continue to be safe and do as we can. Some have lost loved ones and we continue to pray for them. These may be times we really need each other as well as need to stay close to Jesus.

Please pass the word around that we are having church each Sunday at 10:00 a m.

Love from Terrell and Gloria

Greetings in the powerful name of Jesus our Redeemer who came for us that we might be qualified to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Gloria and I desire to wish each of you a wonderful joy filled Christmas and a wonderful new year. It seems that we were doing this just a few days ago but life moves ahead at the speed of the plans of Jesus for us and we can know His victory daily!

We love you and praying that God’s hand of mercy and grace will provide for you safety and security as well as joy in the Holy Spirit.

We have a number of people who are going through trials and we need to pray for them earnestly in these days. Jynan Bowen, Charles Griffin, Carolyn Stanford, Tommy and Jane Waldrup as well as Brother Jimmy Breland. Then, Bill Griffith lost family this week in a car accident as well as friends of our church have died related to sickness. We thank God for His protection for all of our people’s safety. Eugene Hydrick has two brothers that are in bad condition and they also need our prayers. Also, Miss Barbara Stanford lost two brothers in a 10-day period here close to Christmas. If I left someone out just remember that I am of age to forget and blame me for it.

We are blessed to have a recent wedding for Kelce Place and Michael Nelson which we rejoice that everything went well. Praise the Lord for young folks that are able to carry on the generations to come. Please pray for them.

We have been having church at 10 a m every Sunday, and the crowd varies from Sunday to Sunday. We rejoice that regardless of what happens in Washington we are under the mandate of Christ to serve and worship Him until He comes! We are seeing a rise of interference in our freedom to serve and worship the Lord Jesus here in America. Regardless of where we live, we must all choose to worship and serve Jesus until He comes for us!

We looked at why we are to be thankful this Thanksgiving. Our names are written down in Glory and we are a part of God’s eternal family! Read again Romans 8:1-11 and rejoice in the victory that is ours and give the victory to others who need full and free salvation! We rejoiced in the God who loved us enough to leave heaven and come down to this sin cursed earth and live perfectly and die for us who lived sinfully. How great is our God who gave Himself to be sin for us that we could live forever justified and guiltless?

Thanks to all who came Sunday and gave us a good day of worship and praise. When we join hearts together to praise the perfect Savior then we all benefit from this time of praise! To hear the time of thanksgiving where we are reminded that God has provided all we need to become an eternal part of His forever family! We should love the Lord and look to heaven while there is chaos in the world because Jesus still rules and reigns and we trust Him with our future.

Love all of the Skene forever family and wish all a wonderful Thanksgiving. Stay safe and avoid the virus.

Love Gloria and Terrell

We had great time Sunday with several that had been sick back in church and we had Rick Stanford and family home with their pretty girl here and we rejoice in all we had coming to worship King Jesus. In a world where they want to shut down church, we are able to continue to reach out to the world of people. We dedicated over 40 shoeboxes to go into the world to carry the gospel of Christ and His saving grace. Praise God for the grand privilege to live for Jesus in these dark times just before the return of Christ to take His own to be with Him in heaven.

We will continue to have church at 10 a m on Sundays so please make plans to be here and to help us as we praise God and His son Jesus Christ. Pray for Brother Tommy and Jane as they recover from his surgery and her knee. Brother Charles Griffin as he deals with several health issues. Carolyn Stanford is doing pretty well and we praise the Lord for it. Keep praying for each of our sweet church family. God’s grace is still sufficient for us all.

Please let us know when you need us and we are here to support you and help you as we together face the things God allows in our world. Praying for all of you!

We enjoyed seeing all of our people who were well enough to be at church yesterday. We prayed for all of our sick people and ask God to bring complete healing to each of them. Much has happened this year, yet God keeps working, and we see His hand of mercy in our lives daily. Please remember that God’s love for you has not diminished and He is still our protection and help in times of need. Let all of God’s children praise the Mighty Name of Jesus because fo His goodness to us!

Most of our people are trying to stay safe and healthy so we can continue in our service to the Lord Jesus. We desire to worship together and we are praying God will allow us to do that. Colder weather will come and we praise God for a safe place to worship where it is warm and we can praise the name of Jesus safe and secure even in winter time. The Lord Jesus loves us and we desire to love Him in return. God may send Jesus to take His church (True Believers) to heaven with Him real soon. Please be sure you are prepared and ready because the times are filled with the problems that Jesus said would be here when He returned.

Gloria and I love you and are praying for you daily!

Our King is still upon the throne, and we can still live in His presence and experience His Joy regardless of what Satan is doing in this world. The devil’s efforts will grow as the day approaches for the return of Jesus our Lord and Savior. In the meantime, we must praise Jesus and anticipate His Coming as we serve the Master here in the midst of evil and deception.

🟢 Please remember that we will have church at 10 a m Sunday, November 8. 🟢

We had several that have been sick and we need to continue to pray for them, but they seem to be coming along really well.

Pray for Brother Tommy that he will heal from the fall and soon be able to come back to sing and help us all as we worship Jesus the King of kings.

The love of God will be sufficient for His children regardless of the circumstances. We have all gone through trials and troubles and God has graciously been with us, and we will continue to enjoy His presence and rejoice in His salvation that is so wonderful. As we meet to worship in house Sunday, be sure to come to praise our wonderful Savior and Lord. The Bible teaches us to come together and worship even though we can have wonderful worship alone in the presence of Jesus. Together, we can encourage each other and be of great help by praying and loving each other in the name of Jesus.

Please remember that Jesus loves you with a great love that will last forever and ever.

Gloria and I love you and are praying for you.

Is the Grass Greener?
By Kenny Digby

Toward the end of your ballot on November 3, there will be two “medical” ma*****na initiatives — Initiative Measure No. 65 and Alternative Measure No. 65A. Please vote NO on both.
Our hearts go out to parents who love and care for a child with chronic seizures. Our hearts go out to families with a terminally ill loved one with cancer and the pain it brings, but we do not believe “medical” ma*****na is the answer.
Our Christian Action Commission members did their homework and talked with medical doctors and law enforcement personnel. On December 11, 2018, the commissioners voted unanimously to oppose legalizing “medical” ma*****na in Mississippi. We Christians are to have a spirit-controlled, mind-controlled body.
Whoever wrote Initiative 65 must have been using “medical” ma*****na. The policies and procedures in I-65 would be a four lane trip to more abuse and misuse, not less. I-65 would be a train wreck for our society.
Any time you change the state Constitution, it is a very serious matter. Sanctioning the use of ma*****na in our Constitution in such a reckless way is problematic. A bad piece of legislation can be changed in the next session of the Mississippi Legislature. A mistake in the Constitution can take decades to change, or longer.
If “medical” ma*****na is really a medicine, why not follow set protocols for approval that are already in place? Why not use prescriptions and pharmacies for distribution? I’m not trying to take a pot shot (pardon the pun) at “medical” ma*****na, but there will be pot shops everywhere, just as there are lottery tickets everywhere. One can, with easily obtained paperwork, go to a joint and get your joints (again, pardon the pun) – up 10 per day for a month plus refills.
Zoning for these pot shops and joint joints will be a huge issue. Basically, cities and counties will have little if any control. How would you like a driver under the influence of ma*****na coming through your neighborhood? Hide the children.
I-65 has hardly any accountability or oversight written into the details. You’re talking about the fox guarding the hen house. You can only expect what you can inspect.
Often, promoters of a bad idea use increased revenue as a rationale for overlooking problems. They argue the tax revenues can build roads and bridges or improve education, or – by all means – add to the state’s rainy day fund. With “medical” ma*****na, there will be no tax revenues for these needed projects. Any fees paid are sown back into the ma*****na system. How dumb do they think we are?
“Regulation” is a favorite word for the drug and liquor crowd. If opioids could not be regulated under a genuine medical system, how can anyone regulate ma*****na with the loosey goosey system in I-65?
Secondary smoke is a huge problem with to***co. Many innocent folks have died of lung cancer. What about secondary smoke from ma*****na? I guess social distancing will solve this problem.
Secondary use by others (relatives, friends) was a huge part of the opioid epidemic. Oh, I’m sure none of the 300 joints in the initial dose of “medical” ma*****na would ever – no, never – get smoked by a teenager or child in the household. We know the patient who has smoked a joint would never be careless with the other 299 joints. I-65 could have provided a combination lock for everyone’s medicine cabinet, but then they wouldn’t be able to remember the combination or where the medicine cabinet was.
Any ma*****na is mind altering. Judgment is impaired. Safety on the highways, in the workplace, and during recreational activities will be an issue. I was a widower for seven years because of a driver under the influence.
Smoking ma*****na destroys brain cells and decreases cognitive ability. Most of us can use all the gray matter we have. Addiction is a big problem. Even good, valid medicine can be addicting. Some argue ma*****na is not physically addicting. If I think I’m hungry, I’m hungry. If someone thinks they are addicted, they have a terrible problem. Many testify that ma*****na was their gateway drug to other drug abuse. “Medical” use does not prevent addiction or the need for a more intense high.
Money is the driving force in many arenas. Some will get rich from the industry of “medical” ma*****na. Greed is a huge factor for many promoting I-65.
For all the above reasons and for the greater good, please vote NO on both “medical” ma*****na initiatives on November 3. This grass is not greener on the other side of the fence. “Medical” ma*****na is a smoke screen – don’t be fooled.

October 29, 2020

Due to the fact that we have 5 people that have tested positive for the virus we will not have church this Sunday. Please pray for them and that no one else comes down with it. We also desire to lift up people around the world that have the virus and other health problems. This year because of the virus we will not have our community Thanksgiving Service. God knows that we will celebrate His goodness to us and seek to praise His name in all the ways we can. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for His mercies and grace toward us and His great love whereby He loves us daily! Please pray for Charles Griffin and family as he is having some real health issues. All of our people who have the virus are doing well at this time.

We have so many people on the left that are trying to do away with church and Christianity so please pray and stay involved as much as you can as we are fighting the One World movement that is out to destroy America and to do away with our devotion to Jesus Christ. Please plan to vote this coming Tuesday November 3rd! Our votes will be vital to keeping America free. The demonically inspired efforts to stop Christianity is great persecution and an effort to destroy the nation that stands in the way of the One World Government.

Please stay close to Jesus and remember we love you all and are praying for all of you daily!
