Hello! If we’ve not met before, my name is Olivia Cooney and since graduating from WKU in December 2021, I have been on full-time staff at WKU CSF! These past four years of living in Bowling Green and working in campus ministry have been so beautifully fruitful both in my own life and the lives of countless students. It’s truly amazing what happens when you surrender your plans to the Lord and seek to follow His leadership in your life. Coming into CSF I was a joyful but shy, anxious and lonely 21 year-old girl; but through serving on the CSF worship team as an student intern, then serving on full-time first as a Freshman Outreach Director and now as a Worship Director, discipling students one-on-one, helping make CSF a hospitable place through making homemade meals, putting my all into decorating for fun events like our annual Halloween party, and much more, the Lord has cultivated so much growth in my soul. By no means did I serve alone! Over the years, I have been unbelievably blessed by beloved staff members, roommates, a church family, and dear students who have become like family to me. Which is what CSF is all about–a home away from home that equips students to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a Christ-centered community. I have definitely experienced the warmth of God’s family in this community at WKU.
Over the past four years I have seen the Lord help me become more confident in my God-given identity, graceful in how I disciple others, and trusting in His care and provision for me. As I continue to faithfully follow the Lord’s call of ministry for my life, He has continued to abundantly bless me more than I could have ever imagined. Most recently, He has opened the door for me to attend the discipleship school of spiritual and emotional health called Phase One of the 18-Inch Journey in Sophia, NC led by Jonathan David and Melissa Helser. This school will take place March 18th - May 21st 2026. I am so excited to learn spiritual and practical tools to use for the rest of my life! When I return, I’ll have the unbelievable delight of marrying my fiancé Joshua Anglin at the end of June and consequently moving to Louisville. With all of this in mind, I am bittersweetly ending my time of working at WKU CSF on March 11th. I am beyond words grateful for the time I’ve spent on full-time staff, humbly doing my best to demonstrate the heart of God towards the young adults on WKU’s campus. The Lord has done incredible things and I have full confidence He will continue to change lives through this campus ministry. Thank you for being a part of my story however you participated!
