Happy Sabbath! It's our last day of our Fast!

Let's look at 2 Chronicles 20. Remember our discussion on Jehoshaphat? He set a fast throughout Judah when he heard an army was coming up against them. He seemed God's help. They were given a battle plan that didn't require them to fight. The battle was theirs. They praised and worshiped God before the battle. Have you began to praise to worship God for what He will do for you?

In Matthew 4:1-11, we see that Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness. He separated Himself and went to spend some time with Our Father. After this, He was tempted by Satan. We see how Jesus handles this situation by quoting scripture after scripture. Three times was He tempted and He did not give in. When the devil left, the angels came and ministered unto Him.

We are almost through with our fast and we know the devil is big mad that we have joined together to intercede on each other's behalf. When we walk out of this fast, let's be mindful to continue to stay connected to Our Father, so we can face any tests that may come our way.

Nehemiah heard about the walls of Jerusalem being broken down and the gates were burned. He began to mourn, fast and pray for a few days. His prayer can be found in Nehemiah 1. He prayed to God for the people of Israel confessing their sins, his sins and his father's family sins. This fast comes before his request to the king in Chapter 2 to return to rebuild Jerusalem.

Day 4! Hump Day!

Today I would like for us to focus on Hannah (1 Samuel 1). As we remember from one of our Bible discussions, she endured taunts from Peninnah because of her infertility. Hannah made the journey to the temple and prayed and fasted. Her prayer can be found vs. 9-11. Eli thought she was drunk with how she was praying, but she expressed her desire for a son. Eli told her to go in peace and may God grant your request. I pray we hear God say, go in peace for your requests are granted!

It's Day 3 of our Fast!

Our scripture for today is Ezra 8:21-23. Ezra called for a fast so that they can humble themselves before God, so they can request a safe journey for them, their children and their belongings. He was ashamed to ask the kings soldiers for protection through the journey, but God heard his request and granted it. Please be encouraged by this.
