We had a wonderful time yesterday at Chicago First Spanish for breakfast and training with our Hispanic pastors and church leaders.

The fellowship, conversation, and dialogue were encouraging and enriching. Grateful for these outstanding pastors and leaders and for the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together as we continue serving our communities, bringing people to Jesus, and becoming Christlike disciples!

Great pastor/board reviews at Crossbridge last week and Mundelein Spanish today!

Pastor Ryan Welshans received a unanimous four-year call and is leading our Crossbridge church with passion, vision, and spirit-led direction. The church is engaging their community and helping those far from God find relationship with Him. Exciting days ahead here!

Pastor Samy Mendez also received a unanimous four-year call from our Mundelein Spanish church. This congregation has eyes looking toward the future, developing leaders, moving forward in discipleship, and serving as the presence of Christ to those around them.

Grateful for both of these churches and their amazing pastors!

Almost 200 people from the Chicago Central District participated in Celebrate Life at Olivet Nazarene University this weekend. Students in 6th-12th grades competed in sports, music, art, communication and Bible quizzing, then participated in worship services, attended workshops, and enjoyed campus amenities like the pool, planetarium, rock wall, field house and more!

Our district took second place overall and our district soccer team, men’s volleyball team and women’s basketball team each won their championship!

Thanks to every adult who volunteered to serve as a coach or sponsor. Special shout out to David Morris and Kandra Hewett who led our district well! What a great opportunity for our teens to use their abilities to glorify God and to celebrate the unique ways He has gifted them!

Happy Mother’s Day!

For the last 14 months, First Nazarene in Lemont has been trusting God to do Far More (Eph. 3:20) as they seek to expand the missional outreach of the church. God has blessed their efforts as they have seen over 300 people come to faith in Christ, 50 people baptized, and a building renovation take place as they focus on God’s purpose, His presence, and the people God is leading them toward.

Today they dedicated the building in a beautiful service of celebration filled with stories of impact that have taken place over this past year. Thankful for the leadership of Pastor Galen Ryman, Pastor Phil Kizzee, and the staff and team of volunteer leaders who have poured into this effort. May God continue to bless this church and help them to accomplish Far More than they could dream or imagine!

We are still thinking about the wonderful time of fellowship, worship, and encouragement we had at district assembly! Grateful for a wonderful district!

Thankful for the Chicago Emanuel Spanish church and the vibrant spirit of faith that continues to mark their life together. Grateful for the leadership of Pastor David Cardenas in this interim season of pastoral transition. Praying for continued strength, unity, and a clear sense of God’s direction for this great church in the days ahead.
