Church Hurt
We all have been hurt in some way shape or form. Life does that and I believe God allows it for a season; not to be cruel or unloving, but on the contrary—to teach us how to forgive, how to choose love, how to extend mercy and show grace. Our hurt teaches us something about extending forgiveness and for us to try again. People get hurt by the church and you know what—so do pastors. But pastors have to keep moving forward in the will of God. We are tested to learn to forgive just as Christ forgave us. If you have been hurt, try again. There is a new pastor, some new people and opportunities to forgive and reconcile with old acquaintances. Honestly, at the end of the day, we are supposed to come to church to worship God. It’s about God—all about God, not the people. But we are a church family and we need each other. In a world full of hate, anger and wickedness, despite our own differences, we need to hold each other up through these hard times and devastating storms against Christians.
I am Pastor Jack Caple, Pastor of Calvary Baptist church, veteran, and all around fun guy who loves the Lord—I invite you to come visit us Sunday morning at 10:30 for morning worship and service. If you haven’t been here before, we’d love to meet you and if you haven’t been in a while or left because of whatever reason, I invite you back to worship the Lord with us. People have differences of opinions and that’s ok, don’t let that hinder you from the Lord. Let’s rebuild our church and be the beacon of hope in our surrounding community; be the light as Christ has sent us out to be. Because if not us, then who.
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8.
