Since its inception, the Boulder Zen Center has been largely self-supporting. Currently, 66% of its revenue comes from our adjacent hospitality business, the Boulder Guest House.
As you can imagine, it is expensive to maintain a practice location in the heart of Boulder. We are proud that our well-run hospitality business allows us to be largely self-supporting. Because of that, aside from memberships, we typically don’t ask the Sangha for general fund support.

We need to do so now because we were recently confronted with two major challenges: the sudden and necessary overhaul of our heating system, the consequent lost days of income, and an overall reduction in hotel bookings this fall.
If you benefit from the Boulder Zen Center’s programs, or enjoy that it exists in the world, please consider donating to our general fund at this time.
A Sangha member has just offered a challenge grant, which means all donations will be doubled going forward! The match applies to both one-time donations or new or upgraded monthly memberships.
Please click the link below to donate, and read more about these challenges we face this year. Thank you for your interest and support! 🙏
