According to Reverend Jack Groverland, what sets Unity apart from other Christian denominations is that Unity acknowledges an omnipresent Christ Consciousness who guides,
heals and transforms people from within through knowledge or self and practicing a loving consciousness. In Unity theology, the 'second coming of Christ' is the awakening of Christ Consciousness in any individual. Thus, the Kingdom of God is where Jesus said it was, within us (Luke 17:21). Through the spiritual guidance of Jack Groverland, Senior Minister, along with his daughter, Syntysche Groverland who is Unity of Boulder's Associate Spiritual Leader, our weekly spiritual messages cover topics such as the Law of Attraction & Maniesting Abundance in Your Life, the 5 Spiritual Principles of Unity, the Bible's Apocryphal Teachings, Lessons from A Course in Miracles and a deep dive into developing a nurturing and healing spiritual practice in your personal life. Norma Groverland, our Music Minister, and life partner of Jack Groverland, leads the acclaimed Unity band and choir that accompanies these services. The services also include special music performed by local and national artists. Along with being a bustling community, with two services every Sunday and a Wednesday night meditation service, Unity of Boulder is a spiritual center that serves as an event space, meeting place, concert venue, and a place to hold classes or workshops. A perfect wedding venue, this spiritual setting is also complete with a private dressing room for the bride. The building is accented with remarkable hand-crafted features throughout --hand painted murals, a sound proof meditation room, a fellowship community gathering hall and “Good Karma Kitchen”, several modest classrooms, a Spiritual Gift Shop and Bookstore, offices, a healing remedies room, and of course, the spacious and acoustically pristine sound sanctuary that seats up to 700 people. On the church grounds, members can take a meditative stroll by the beautiful Goose Creek, walk through the crystal - stone labyrinth, and enjoy the organic vegetable and flower gardens growing there. Unity of Boulder is a strong advocate for the natural environment and strives to be a “green church”. Our congregation raised the money to install solar panels in 2010 converting our entire building to solar power and Unity of Boulder converted to energy efficient bulbs, recyclable and compostable products, and water conserving fixtures. The church donates to various funds to protect wildlife and the environment and is active in aiding in lifting our Indigenous brothers and sisters out of poverty and oppression.
