BBQ sandwiches (pork, chicken, and a vegan option), pasta and green salad, baked beans, dessert and beverages โ€“ all provided for you by our Board of Community Life. In 1987 First Cong became an Open and Affirming Congregation, meaning we invite and affirm our LGBTQ+ siblings into membership and leadership. To live into that covenant, we invite everyone to participate in Boulder PRIDE on June 13, 2026. We need volunteers to help host and welcome people at our booth (library parking lot) AND we need 600 frozen freezer pops. We celebrated Pentecost on Sunday, the feast of the Spirit's coming like wind and fire and opening us to his presence in every language and life. Throughout the worship, the Chancel Choir sang Five Mystical Songs composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams, between 1906 and 1911 using texts by the seventeenth-century poet and priest George Herbert. We welcomed baritone soloist Andrew Konopak who has performed throughout the US, Germany, and Austria, and worked alongside artists
including Plรกcido Domingo and The Rolling Stones. He is now pursuing his M.M. in vocal performance and pedagogy at University of Colorado Boulder.

On June 7th, our ARTS Camp campers return to present The Big Fish, a film noir telling of the story of Jonah set to some jazzy showtunes. Come to worship to see our annual ARTS Camp musical and learn what Jonah was really doing on his trip.
