What Is Green Tara Practice?
If you’ve ever been curious about Green Tara or wondered what happens during a Tara practice, here’s a little window into this beautiful tradition.
Green Tara is known as the embodiment of swift compassion — the one who responds instantly to our fears, obstacles, and suffering. In Tibetan Buddhism, Tara is both a protector and a guide, helping us reconnect with our own innate courage, clarity, and wisdom.
During a Green Tara Sadhana practice, we gather together for:
✨Chants & melodies that open the heart
✨ Visualization of Tara’s peaceful, vibrant presence
✨ Mantra recitation (Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha) to awaken compassion
✨ Supplication for protection, healing, and the removal of obstacles
✨ Resting in awareness as we connect with our own inner Tara qualities
This liturgy — Khadiravaṇītārā — is unique to Nalandabodhi, revealed as a mind treasure by Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and composed by Khenpo Rinpoche and Ponlop Rinpoche. It’s a joyful, melodic, and deeply moving practice open to everyone, whether you’re brand new or experienced.
If your heart could use a little grounding, comfort, or inspiration, Green Tara is a beautiful place to land.
Join us this Sunday, June 7, from 11:00–12:00 MT, onsite or online.
