Pine Street Church

Pine Street Church Located at the corner of 13th and Pine in historic downtown Boulder, Pine Street Church offers relevant, meaningful worship.

The music is exceptional and ecclectic. Messages are creative and inspiring. The congregation: down to earth and loving. Pine Street Church (previously First Baptist Church of Boulder), is an American Baptist Churches USA congregation. We are a progressive congregation that welcomes all - no exceptions.

Today the front lawn at Pine Street Church became a cheering station, pit stop, hydration zone, and neighborhood front porch for the Bolder Boulder.

To every runner, walker, volunteer, costume-wearer, stroller-pusher, and sweaty high-fiver: thanks for making today so joyful. We loved being part of the energy of Boulder together.

one, one thousand… Featuring the art of Debe Arlook, who is an interdisciplinary photographic artist, author, educator, and mentor whose work examines memory, meditation, caregiving, and perception.

one, one thousand... is a different kind of love story. It is a portrait of maternal devotion and an expression of the bond between two sisters. Interdisciplinary artist Debe Arlook bears witness to her sister Lori’s caregiving experience of struggle and grace in this intimate illustration of lifelong care for Lori’s son David, a nonverbal man living with a rare, incurable form of epilepsy and severe autism. The title draws from Lori's words as she counts the length of each seizure.

Join us for an opening reception on May 17th at 11 am, immediately following our Sunday Morning Gathering, in which we'll have a Special Sunday Message offered by Lori Sandler, the subject of Debe’s exhibit, who will tell her story of raising her son David, who has a rare incurable form of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome.

Through traditional photography, filmmaking, and multiple art forms, Arlook seeks to give voice to David’s silence in an attempt to understand his inner life—his intelligence, perceptions, and consciousness beyond language and diagnoses. This project is a testament to the countless unseen caregivers and loved ones they care for.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the powerful documentary screening of No Other Land last Friday, presented in collaboration with Showing Up For Racial Justice - SURJ Boulder.

If you missed the event, we encourage you to watch this important film, which earned the 2025 Academy Award for Best Documentary.

The evening's talkback session featured two local Palestinian and Israeli citizens who shared their perspectives and encouraged us to become strong voices for social justice—both locally and globally. Their insights reminded us of the power of community engagement and the importance of acting where we are.

We are thrilled to announce that the event raised $1,000 toward supporting a Bright Stars of Bethlehem Student Scholarship. Bright Stars supports Dar-al-Kalima University, the first and only arts, cultural, and design university in all of Palestine. Learn more at: https://www.brightstarsbethlehem.org/.

In partnership with Rocky Mountain Equality, we had the honor of hosting Nico Lang for a powerful, deeply human conversation about their book American Teenager—and the real lives behind the headlines.

Nico shared the courage, complexity, and joy of trans, nonbinary, and genderfluid teens finding their way in a turbulent world.

At Pine Street, we believe every story matters—and every person deserves to be seen, known, and celebrated.

No Other Land, directed by a four-person collective of Israeli and Palestinian activists, is what they describe as an ā€œact of resistance on the path to justice in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.ā€ It depicts the harrowing conditions of Palestinian villages living under Israeli occupation and constant violence in the West Bank.
