Electrification Study: St. Ambrose has been approved for an electrification study to assist in planning for improvements to increase energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint. The study will be funded by Boulder County PACE and carried out by Resource Innovations. The first walkthrough with Resource Innovations today. Our goals are to have a plan in place to replace aging HVAC with heat pumps if feasible and look at targeting improvements to insulation and ductwork.

More on our new Pastor-in-Charge, Pastor Katie Emery. Her first Sunday with us is this coming Sunday, June 16. Welcome all!

The Rev. Katie Emery joins us as an ecumenical partner from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and will be serving half-time as the Pastor-in-Charge at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church in Boulder. Pastor Katie was raised in the beautiful state of Wisconsin and has also lived in the states of Minnesota, Washington, and Montana. Additionally, she has lived in Scotland, South Africa, and Cameroon.
In 2012, she graduated from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN with her Master of Divinity degree, and since being ordained has served as a pastor in the ELCA and the Presbyterian Church, USA (PCUSA). She has a passion for ecumenical work and is excited about serving the Episcopal Church. Pastor Katie also serves as the Acting Director of Excellence in Leadership, a nationwide, ecumenical leadership formation ministry. She, her husband Will, and her dog Loki live in Longmont.

Green Team Update: Our Green Team chair and friend visited Jacob Springs Farm last week and found that they have a new, more flexible model for joining in on their regenerative agriculture farm produce. The farm has received a grant to purchase a large freezer to store and display their pasture-raised protein, and so will no longer need coop members to commit to a schedule of six annual deliveries. Easier on all involved! For a moderate annual fee, you can join, and then purchase specialty grains, eggs, yogurt, cheese, pasture-raised and humanely produced meats, ice cream, dal, vinegar, honey, bee's wax lip balm... wow, the list goes on. The owner of Jacob Springs Farm, Andre Houssney, was our featured speaker on Earth Day Sunday at our church, and we also visited his farm last fall (see photo). St. Ambrose also sponsored an Earth Day showing of "Common Ground" along with the city of Boulder and Interfaith Power and Light. The film highlights the opportunities for mitigating climate change degradation with regenerative agriculture.
