We are thrilled to welcome our new Youth Director, Elizabeth Chisholm! Liz is originally from Bottineau, works at Camp Metigoshe, attends DCB and is also a photographer! There will be a 'Meet Liz' event for Grades 7-12 on Wed., Sept. 9! Come hang out, get to know Liz and enjoy a fun evening together of snacks, games and activities! Join us in celebrating this exciting new chapter in our youth ministry!

Funeral for Swain Benson

With deep reverence and heartfelt sorrow, we announce that Our Brother in Christ, Asmundur Swain Benson II, aged 76, has passed through death into the eternal care of our Lord on August 16, 2026. His life and legacy will be honored in a funeral service on Monday, August 24, at 2:00 pm at First Lutheran, with a meal to follow. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be available via livestream on the First Lutheran page. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, August 23, starting at 1:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Swain will be profoundly missed; he was a steadfast pillar of support for First Lutheran and the community, serving with wisdom and compassion. May his beloved family and friends find solace in the comforting embrace of the Lord during this difficult time.
