Invitation

All praises to Allah SWT for blessing us with Islam and a safe, comfortable, and welcoming masjid (ICOB) to practice our deen. I hope this message finds you and your loved ones in good health and Eimaan. We are excited to announce that ICOB will be hosting a fundraising event to support our operations and programs.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 18, from 5 PM at Empire Banquet Hall. Please see the flyer for details. The dinner will be served at 6 PM and there will be activities for kids at the children's corner.

We would like to invite you and your family to attend this event and help us raise funds for, paying off the loan, and the various programs & services that the masjid provides. This is an opportunity to help maintain the house of Allah, which Insha' Allah will be a resourceful Masjid for generations to come.

ICOB] ICOB Jumuahs are cancelled today 12/23/2022

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُه

There is ice on the ground in the ICOB parking lot and on roads leading to ICOB. Ice won’t begin to thaw until temperatures reach above freezing, forecasted to happen later today. Hence this hard decision has been made to cancel both Jumuahs today.

يجوز ترك الجمعة والجماعة لشدة المطر أو الريح الباردة أو وجود الثلج الذي يؤذي الناس ويشق معه الذهاب إلى الجمعة ؛ لما روى البخاري (901) ومسلم ( أن ابْن عَبَّاسٍ رضي الله عنه قال لِمُؤَذِّنِهِ فِي يَوْمٍ مَطِيرٍ إِذَا قُلْتَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَلَا تَقُلْ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ . قُلْ : صَلُّوا فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ . فَكَأَنَّ النَّاسَ اسْتَنْكَرُوا . قَالَ : فَعَلَهُ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي ؛ إِنَّ الْجُمْعَةَ عَزْمَةٌ ، وَإِنِّي كَرِهْتُ أَنْ أُحْرِجَكُمْ فَتَمْشُونَ فِي الطِّينِ وَالدَّحَضِ ) .

Attendance at Jumu‘ah or prayers in the congregation may be waived in the event of rain, mud, snow, ice, or a cold wind on a dark night, because of the words of Ibn ‘Umar: The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would ask his caller to call out on a cold or rainy night: Pray where you are. Bukhari and Muslim.
