Today, July 22nd, the Church celebrates the feast day of St. Mary Magdalene, the first person to witness the risen Christ and the 'apostle to the apostles' (in the words of St. Thomas Aquinas).

Along with being a renowned and devoted follower of Jesus in the New Testament, St. Mary Magdalene serves as a reminder, today, of the courage and faith required to speak the truth while trusting in God's love.

She bears an ointment jar in many depictions due to her traditional association with the woman who anointed Christ's feet in the Gospels, such as Mark 14:3-9 (thanks Pope Gregory I), and is the patron saint of repentant sinners, contemplative life, and hairdressers. So, think about her the next time you're at the barber.

Join us in the 3rd floor library after the 6:00pm Mass this Sunday, March 2nd for pizza, a presentation, and conversation with Jared Goldfarb about the competing narratives that have contributed to the Israel-Hamas War.

Jared is an independent educator and licensed tour guide who teaches the history of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, biblical geography, and the geopolitical history of Israel/Palestine to religious leaders of all faiths, educators, university students, and seminarians across the world.

Based in Jerusalem, he teaches throughout Israel & Palestine and has served as scholar-in-residence in many communities across North America. Jared led a fascinating in-person discussion at the Center last February and we are thrilled he is available to be with us again on March 2nd!

We hope to see you there for this important conversation.

It’s not too late! Join us at the Paulist Center on Saturday, December 14th at 8:00pm and/or Sunday, December 15th at 2:00pm as we gather for our highly anticipated annual Advent-Christmas Program - “God With Us: A Festival of Readings and Carols.”

We are not selling tickets; instead, we welcome free-will offerings. Visit www.paulistcenter.org/godwithus/ to learn more!

Since early October, over 30 musicians have been rehearsing, and more than 35 youth, under the guidance of Christine Tardiff, have been preparing to share song, dance, prayer, and story. This beloved tradition offers us an opportunity to embark on our Advent pilgrimage together, culminating in the joyful celebration of the Feast of the Incarnation.

Both performances will be followed by a reception, and Sunday’s performance will begin with A Christmas Story, presented by the children and the liturgical dance ministry of the Center.
