On this Holy Wednesday, we deeply thanks and quote the moral clarity that continues to flow from Bishop William Barber II:

"Clergy like myself must call it what it is: To end birthright citizenship now would be a sin against God and a sin against humanity. And no sin is more serious than a sin against children. Isaiah 10 tells us woe be unto those who legislate evil and rob the poor of their rights, making women and children their prey. In Matthew 18:6, Jesus offers a severe warning: Woe to those who offend children. It would better that they tie a millstone around their neck and be thrown into the sea. If the Court were to side with Trump in this case, it would be tying a millstone around our necks and placing America under the judgement of God.

It is morally sick – demented even – and certainly racist for people who were not even the first inhibitors of this land – whose foreparents stole land from indigenous people – to claim they deserve to be in and someone else should be out based on their race or country of origin. None of these people are Apache or Cherokee or Tuscaroran, like my people from Eastern North Carolina. Don’t try to tell the people who’ve worked the soil of this land and spilled blood to expand its democracy about ‘blood and soil.’ If our corrupt, immoral leaders had it their way, half of them wouldn’t have become citizens two, three, or four generations back."

Amen. Do the right thing court. Don't be like Pilate...

Palm Sunday’s protest began a day early yesterday. Great to be together in Boston Common and the The Cathedral Church of St Paul, Boston. We ain’t gonna study war (or lies or empire) no more. The power of the people won’t stop. No Kings. No war. No ICE. No Hatred. We’ve got this. "Hosanna - blessed is the One of Peace Who Comes in the Name of our God, peace in heaven and peace on earth, hosanna in the highest!" - Rob Mark

Thank you PCUSA Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. We rise in solidarity and prayer with you. Westminster Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis

LOUISVILLE — Few sermons preached by PC(USA) teaching elders receive a standing ovation, but that’s how the congregation at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis responded Sunday following stellar preaching by the Rev. Margaret Fox, the church’s associate pastor of adult ministries.

Thank you MCAN - one of many active, visual, public, courageous, faithful signs of sacred love and resistance rising ALL over this country right now.

Last Friday, as we stood in solidarity with Minneapolis and our Faith in Action sister federation ISAIAH, MCAN’s Faith Leader Caucus led 200 clergy to the State House to deliver a letter to Gov. Maura Healey that laid out executive actions she could take that would let people know she is fighting for us:

1. Make sure the federal government is adhering to our state constitution and laws. We have laws and a constitution for a reason. Stand behind them when it comes to the federal government. Take Bold Public Executive Action

2. Restrict state departments from cooperating with the federal government when our laws and constitution are being violated. Take Bold Public Executive Action.

3. Create a department that would track and process any issues that would come up as a result of item 2. i.e. a truth commission. Take Bold Public Executive Action.

This is #15 in our series - catch up with the earlier posts and come back for more.

Good to gather, pray, process and act yesterday with 200 or so clergy friends to stand up in solidarity to Bear Witness for love and dignity against ICE's cruelty in Minneapolis, Portland, Lewiston, Boston, and beyond. Thank you MCAN. Onwards, together. ~R

Tomorrow at the cathedral - join us for a Prayer Vigil for Trans Rights

Tuesday, January 13, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm

On January 13, 2026 the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments for two cases impacting the rights and lives of Trans and Non Binary (TNB) people – W. Virginia v BPJ and Little v Hecox. While the issues in these cases are focused on their right to play sports with their friends, the Supreme Court risks further empowering a national and coordinated effort to push transgender people out of public life altogether and in the process, potentially undermining civil rights protections for all LGBTQ+ people.

In solidarity with our trans family, friends, and neighbors, we are holding vigil while the Supreme Court meets next Tuesday. We do this in partnership with a coalition including the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Lambda Legal, and other groups, who are organizing a rally outside the Supreme Court at the same time.

Please spend an hour or just half an hour with us in the cathedral's chapel, praying and reading, holding silence and singing, affirming the dignity of all people. Bring a friend.
