Juneteenth Service - June 19, 2026 at 10am

Join the Diocesan Office of Immigration and Multicultural Ministries and the Bishop Burgess Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians for a service celebrating Juneteenth at St. Cyprians.

Juneteenth National Independence Day commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation-signed January 1, 1863-and freed the last enslaved people in Texas.

🕊️🙏🏾 Ryan Dias-Toppin 🙏🏾🕊️

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ryan Dias-Toppin (daughter of Louis Toppin). For many years Ryan was a member of the St. Cyprian’s Celestial Infernos and Branches Pangroove Steel Orchestra. Ryan was the founder and curatorial and production manager at the Inner City Sanctuary for the Arts. Ryan was a producer, vocalist, performance artist, and multi-disciplinary visual artist.

Ryan attended Wesleyan University where she double-majored in Music and Sociology with a concentration in jazz theory and experimental music, and music and cultural spaces. Ryan worked for many esteemed institutions like the Issue Project Room (Brooklyn, NYC); Spike Hill (Williamsburg, NYC), e National Underground (LES, NYC), FreeCandy (Bedstuy, NYC), and the MOMA's PS1 Center for Contemporary Art. Ryan also produced underground events and festivals in Boston and New York City.

Ryan always had a warm and welcoming smile. Ryan will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May her soul rest in God’s eternal peace.

Sacred Reckonings. On May 16 and 17, 2026, three organizations are sponsoring a two-day workshop to help people build skills to explore the various dimensions of reparations and deepen the work of repairing our communities. This event will take place in Natick from 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The Episcopal City Mission, the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, and the Reparations Interfaith Coalition of Massachusetts are the sponsors of this event.
