Heartfelt thanks to all who supported Saint Cecilia’s team in the Mother’s Day Walk For Peace 💜

🚶‍♀️Not only did we meet our $10,000 fundraising goal, we also nearly doubled the number of walkers participating from the parish!

🕊 We were blessed with beautiful weather and were so glad to show solidarity with all those across the city who have been impacted by gun violence. As always, it was a day filled with both reflection and hope.

We so appreciate your support ✨

Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring those who have died in service to our country 🇺🇸 Originally, this day was known as Decoration Day because of the custom of placing flags and decorating the graves of members of the armed services who died in the Civil War.

We give God thanks for all those who have laid down their lives to protect our peace and security 🙏 We remember the sacrifices made by their families and loved ones in order to preserve our democratic way of life.

Please note there will be no Coffee Hospitality in the Parish Hall this Sunday (May 24th) ☕ our parish offices will also be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.

Congratulations to our confirmands! Last Sunday, 32 young parishioners and 21 adults received the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. We welcomed Bishop Cristiano Barbosa to join us in conferring the sacrament of confirmation.

Thank you to all those who shepherded our confirmands on this journey, especially our Faith Formation teachers 🐑 ✨

This Sunday marks our final weekend with Deacon Christopher Brolly, SJ, as he prepares to be ordained to the priesthood in just four weeks!

💫 We are deeply grateful for his presence at Saint Cecilia over the past three years, especially for his generous service with our OCIA program, his engaging homilies, and his pastoral presence in our community.

⭐ Christopher will be ordained to the priesthood on June 13 at St Mary’s Cathedral in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.

✨ After ordination, he will serve in a pastoral placement in the UK over the summer before returning to Boston for the 2026–27 academic year and his final year of studies. We hold Christopher in our prayer with gratitude and affection.

🥞 A pancake breakfast in his honor will follow the 9:30 and 11:30 liturgies—all are welcome to join us in thanksgiving and fellowship!
