Cheers to the new Unitarian Universalist Congregation in the Assabet Valley (UUCAV)!

A new chapter begins for two local Unitarian Universalist congregations. This past Sunday, congregations from both First Parish Church of Stow & Acton and Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson took a historic vote to formally merge as one congregation, effective July 1.

Our members come from across the Assabet River valley—Acton, Bolton, Hudson, Marlborough, Maynard, and Stow. Our new name reflects that shared connection—Unitarian Universalist Congregation in the Assabet Valley (UUCAV).

Together, we carry forward long traditions of welcoming people of all backgrounds and faiths, while building something stronger for the future. Our combined congregation base will be the historic building at 353 Great Road in Stow. In the coming year, we’re excited to offer new services, programs, music, and opportunities to connect—on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. All are welcome, come join us!

The UUA will be closed on Friday, May 1 in solidarity.

On May 1st, thousands of organizations across the country are calling for a day of “No School, No Work, No Shopping” to disrupt the violent billionaire takeover of our country and to put working families first.

We encourage you to join your local May Day action to demand:

- Tax the rich so our families, not their fortunes, come first.
- ICE Out. No private army serving authoritarian power.
- Expand democracy, not corporate power. Defend free and fair elections, not a rigged disaster.

An important message from the UUA...

An important message from the UUA...

Today, the Unitarian Universalist Association calls for an end to the war in Iran in a letter to President Trump and other U.S. leaders.

The letter names this military action as a violation of our deepest commitments and warns that it threatens religious liberty. It also makes clear that this “illegal and destructive use of military force cannot be justified on the grounds of human rights,” and puts Iranian people at further risk of harm.

Grounded in a generations-long witness for religious pluralism, the UUA affirms that many people of faith oppose imperialist aims masquerading as religious commitments.

UU leaders are also inviting you to join them by adding your name to the public letter.

Read the full letter and sign on at the links in the comments.

Whether you are from a New Hampshire town or city, whether you are White, Black, Brown, or other, whether you are male, female, or gender non-conforming, whether you were born here or somewhere else, we all need to have a solid understanding of what is happening in New Hampshire in 2026.

The New Hampshire legislature is being controlled by the Free Staters who are backed by big money. Our constitutional rights are being challenged and our voting rights are being threatened.

UU Action NH is working to educate people on the important issues in the state, so that everyone can continue to live free.

You have the opportunity to educate yourself by coming to the UU Action NH annual meeting. This event is free and open to all and you don't have to be a UU or part of UU Action NH to attend. Team members from the NH Community Bail Fund will be present so you can learn more about their work. And be sure to bring $25 or a check for a UU Action NH T-shirt stating, "Showing Up for Justice, Equity, and Love."

Come to a research presentation like none other. We won't have cheese cubes and club crackers (though you can bring your own to the virtual event), but you will be treated to joy-filled music, moving stories, and of course: the profound findings of this research and what it means for your faith community.
