St. The St. Values of St. We comfort all people.

Cecilia Church is a vibrant Catholic community, focused on God’s call for all people to worship, live, and love as one. Cecilia community has established itself as an important voice in the Greater Boston area movement to welcome people who feel marginalized within the Catholic Church. This Catholic worship community weaves together Catholics with varying life backgrounds in order to create inclus

We promote justice and equality for all people. We respect all people. We include all people. We do not judge people.

Today we remember Matthew Shepard on what should have been his 49th birthday. A copy of the icon shown is prominently displayed with other icons in a display case in Saint Cecilia Parish.

Matthew is interred at the Washington National Cathedral and at a memorial service there in 2022, this was the Gathering Prayer: "God of love, hold us as we remember our beloved brother Matthew who now rests in the peace and safety of your eternal home. Surround us as we reflect on the meaning of his legacy and the enduring injustices that call out to us for action. Stand with us in our resolve to walk the path of righteousness as we seek to build a world that embraces and uplifts the human family in all its beautiful and life-giving diversity. Amen."

Our government's cruelty and stupidity did not deter Saint Cecilia Parish from commemorating World AIDS Day yesterday.

The State Department warned employees not to use government funds for the occasion and to “refrain from publicly promoting World AIDS Day through any communication channels.”

Sunday, November 30 at our 11:30 liturgy. In commemoration of World AIDs Day, this weekend our parish AIDS quilt will be on display in the rear of the church. In 1995, parishioners at the Jesuit Urban Center (JUC) created the quilt as a memorial to honor the members of that community whose lives were cut short by HIV/AIDS. When the JUC closed in 2007, the quilt was given a new home at Saint Cecilia, where it now resides as a powerful visual reminder of the lives of beloved members of these two communities.
