105 years ago today, a mob of White people began a vile, murderous attack on the Greenwood District, a flourishing Black community in Tulsa and the home of Black Wall Street.

Imagine if the Greenwood District, and many other thriving Black communities, had not been intentionally destroyed at the hands of racism and white supremacy.

In this episode, we sit down with author, Dorothy Littell Greco to discuss her deeply researched new book (boasting nearly 40 pages of footnotes!) that systematically deconstructs misogyny across healthcare, the workplace, government, entertainment, and relationships. "For the Love of Women: Uprooting and Healing Misogyny in America" tackles the heavy reality that the Church should be the safest place for women—but often isn't. Dorothy's book, born out of a place of deep grief and righteous anger, allows this conversation to highlight crucial insights for the collective path forward: we must share our stories (while respecting differing levels of trauma), we must allow ourselves to feel and listen to our anger, and we cannot give up hope.

If you are looking for a space to process, grieve, and lament the harsh realities of our world while actively seeking a way forward, this episode is for you. Click here to listen on our website: www.bostonfaithjustice.org/podcast

I (Elizabeth Grady Harper) recently finished Dorothy Little Greco’s "For the Love of Women: Uprooting and Healing Misogyny in America" and I encourage everyone who wants a deeper understanding of the roots and realties of misogyny in our country and culture to read it. I was privileged to have a conversation with Dorothy about the book for our Let's Talk: Faith & Justice Podcast which will air tomorrow!

Dorothy's book can be purchased here: zondervanacademic.com/products/for-the-love-of-women

Yesterday I was privileged to attend Friends of Boston's Homeless event celebrating their work and honoring those who support and serve with them! It was so encouraging to hear from Carrie everything Friends has done this past year and their dreams for what more they can do. Thank you FOBH for your faithful and impactful work!

"Micah, writing to Judah in roughly 700 B.C.E., is unsparing in his denouncement of corrupt leaders who exploit their positions for personal gain while claiming divine favor. Micah details all the ways Israel and Judah’s religious and political leaders have abused power and conspired to do evil; including through seizing people’s property (2:2), stealing and plundering (2:8), showing contempt for justice and distorting truth (3:9), misusing their own positions for profit (3:11), and accepting bribes (7:3). Does any of this sound familiar?"

The president is using public resources to reward his allies and ignore justice. This corruption cannot stand.

“This moment is unlike any in my lifetime,” McBride said. “We have seen the quick rise of Christian nationalism and political extremism. We have seen, under the guise of our Christian faith, a very explicit targeting of vulnerable groups in our country by the political right. We’ve seen Black Americans and the gains of our Civil Rights freedom struggle be systematically dismantled before our eyes.”

This Saturday, the National Day of Action for Voting Rights will take place in Selma and Montgomery, in homage to Civil Rights demonstrations, with more than 50 other events across the country.
