We're honored to share this interview with the And Campaign featuring our pastor, who reflects on our church's journey of walking alongside individuals impacted by immigration detention.

What began as a response to real people in our community became an invitation to live out the Gospel in tangible ways. Our pastor shares how this experience has deepened our understanding of God's call to love our neighbors and become a people who embody God's Kingdom through mercy, generosity, and hope.

This conversation is a hopeful and inspiring invitation to follow Jesus with courage, compassion, and holy imagination, trusting that God is still at work, even for such a time as this.

We invite you to watch, reflect, and be encouraged.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes…and pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With that in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”

To stand together in prayer before God is humbling, invigorating, faith-building. It is one of the most beautiful ways humans are invited to partner with God in his work in us and in the world.

An evening of defiant joy and hope - hearing stories of God’s faithfulness in high school classrooms, hospital rooms, and detention centers. God is at work in our hearts and in our world, responding to the prayers of His people and bringing renewal in ways we could not have planned. May we remember with thankful hearts and renewed trust.

“Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you!” Grateful for a rich time in Vital Groups. What a gift it is to be together in ordinary life, in birthdays, in trial, in new seasons and mundane ones. What a gift to be nourished in God’s Word, anchored in prayer, and upheld in grace. #🌿 #🎉

Last week, our pastor had the honor of offering the invocation at the Boston City Council meeting, sharing reflections on the quiet, surprising ways that light still breaks through the darkness.

“As Christians, we believe that God moves toward people in darkness rather than away from them…and that some of the clearest signs of hope emerge precisely in places the world expects only despair.”

May we continue becoming a people who resist cynicism, carry one another’s burdens, and help build a community where no one is forgotten.

Writing letters has become a quiet but powerful part of our church’s love of neighbor. We’ve been writing and sending support to men in detainment who meet nightly to worship, pray, and be in Scripture together even while they wait with great uncertainty and sorrow. It’s a simple practice that allows us to remind our brothers that they’re not forgotten.

If you’d like to take part, you can grab an envelope (already addressed and stamped) on any Sunday, write a letter, and send it during the week. If you'd like to help send support for necessities (like toothpaste, an extra shirt, etc) and book gifts, you can make a gift to our church with "detainee" in the memo. Thank you for the way you continue to love and encourage these brothers and bear witness to God’s nearness with them.

Grateful to spend the evening with Damaris and Patricia from Agencia ALPHA to eat, rest, and share of God’s goodness together. We have first-hand experience to how they show up for immigrant neighbors and we are forever grateful. May God provide abundantly for all their needs and give surprising joy and enduring hope.
