Thank you for your concern for evacuees from Afghanistan! Many were employed as translators, intelligence gatherers, worked at an embassy, or on specific US projects. Hello friends! Sarah Blumenshine here, from the page formerly known as GBRM. Our social media feeds have taken a bit of a break as we closed out the Converge Partnership this summer and refocused our attention on other refugee- and immigrant-led initiatives in our networks. With COVID impacting immigrant communities disproportionately, we’re relying heavily on leaders in those communities to help us see the issues more clearly so we can get behind their efforts. Be watching in the coming days for posts highlighting recent changes and opportunities to get involved!

Meantime, as we have retired the name Greater Boston Refugee Ministry (GBRM), we are renaming this page after GBRM’s parent program, Intercultural Ministries. I can’t promise it won’t ever change again (which won’t surprise you if you know us well, ha!), but we will do our best to keep you in touch with what’s happening. We hope you’ll join us for this next leg of the journey!
