Title: Renewing the mind
Text: Romans 12:2
The mind is a very crucial part of human life. Everything we say or do originates from our mind (Prov. 23:7). If we must fulfill God’s purpose for our lives, there are certain things we must change. Renewing means to change something from bad to good (or old to new) as an ongoing process. It is a continuous transformation, which is what the Lord expects from us until His full image is formed in us. So, what are common things a Christian should change from as part of this ongoing transformation process?
(i) You must change from the ways and customs of the world. Your life pursuits and aspirations should not be focused only on worldly gains. 1 John 2:15-16; 1 Tim. 6:6-7
(ii) You need to come out of every mold or stereotype, either imposed or assumed, that has been affecting your thinking. Some people have been told that they cannot go beyond a certain level of achievement, and they have unconsciously allowed that in their thinking. You need to get rid of every negative thinking. Mark 10:46-52; 1 Tim. 4:12; Zech. 4:10.
(iii) Change from the mentality of a beggar to that of a son that has the right to God’s inheritance. God is your father; never assume there is anything too big for God to do for you. Rom. 8:14-16; Gal. 4:1-7; Matt. 6:9-13.
(iv) Change from being fearful to being courageous. 2 Tim. 1:7; Josh. 1:6.
(v) Change from being far from God to being closer to Him. Isa. 59:1-2; James 4:8.
To achieve these, you must:
(i) Pray for the grace and courage to take the steps necessary for the change. Luke 18:1; 1 Thess. 5:17
(ii) Improve on the time you spend in studying and meditating on the Word of God. 2 Tim. 2:15; Josh. 1:8.
(iii) Be open to new ideas and ways of thinking that are in line with God’s word. Acts 10:9-16; Prov. 13:20; 15:22.
(vi) Have an open mind to criticism that exposes your shortcomings; we are all work in progress until we meet Him in glory. Prov. 12:1; Prov. 9:8.
(vi) Occupy your mind with productive thinking but not with destructive thinking. Slandering, back-biting, gossiping, wasteful jesting, etc., should be strongly avoided. You may need to cut off some unfruitful friendships. 1 Corin. 10:5; Phil. 4:8.

Title: God of Wonders
Text: Acts 10:38
God is the greatest performer of wonders; an act that amazes and brings a sense of astonishment and reference. That is why He is often referred to as the “God of wonders” (Job 5:9; Ps. 77:14). From creation to now, and throughout eternity, He will continue to do wonders (Heb. 13:8).
The complexity of the structure of the universe, the arrangements of nature, and even the perfect design of the human body are all expressions of His wonders. In the scriptures, we saw how a word from Him calmed the storm, stopped the hemorrhage of many years, opened the blind eyes, and restored a madman to his normal self (Mark 4:35-41; Matt. 9:20-22; Mark 10:46-52; Luke 8:26-39). Even in contemporary times, we have witnessed people who had been diagnosed with damaged organs in their bodies being completely healed, with brand new organs, after being prayed for.
This is a clear testimony that God is still in the business of doing wonders. Therefore, if you are wondering whether the stories in the Bible are just fairy tales or whether contemporary testimonies are just staged performances, I have good news for you. God can do wonders in your life as well, only if you can believe (Mark 9:23). Have you received a scary diagnosis or are you currently trapped in a seemingly dire situation, or facing a tough decision process now?
Jesus is standing by to give you a brand-new testimony, because He is always doing good (Acts 10:38). Just allow Him to save you first by accepting Him as your Lord and Savior. Afterward, relay your issues to Him in faith and watch Him perform the wonder you have been waiting for. Why not just say a word of prayer now and let the miracle begin?

Title: God Answers Prayer
Text: Matthew 7:7-8
Prayer is a spiritual tool available to believers for engaging heavenly intervention to address earthly pursuits. It’s a ritual that’s expected to yield results. However, the experience of many believers in prayer is a mixed one. Some are frustrated by a lack of results; some see partial results, while others have an exceptional life of constant answers to prayer. The latter is God's expectation for all His children regarding prayer (Jer. 33:3).
When we consider the Bible's stand on the issue of prayer, we’ll discover that failure in prayer is never the fault of God but ours (Matt. 7:8; Isa. 59:1-2; Jam. 4:3). So, when faced with lots of unanswered prayers, it is wrong to start pointing fingers at God; we need to examine ourselves.
- We cannot be full of sin (immorality, bitterness, unforgiveness, malice) and expect God to hear us. God is Holy, so a sinner’s prayer is repulsive to God, unless it’s a prayer of repentance. Hab. 1:13; Isa. 59:1-2; Isa. 1:19
- It is possible we are not asking God what we really need. Sometimes, people think they are praying when in reality they are only complaining. God listens to prayers and not complaints. John 5:6-7; Jam. 4:2
- It is possible we are not asking correctly. God only answers prayers that align with His will. Sometimes God delays answering some prayers because we do not yet have the grace to handle what we are asking for. Jam. 4:3; 1 John 5:14; Rom. 8:26-27
- Some issues need a higher level of consecration and consistency. There is always an adversary for every level of greatness; some with a higher degree of resistance than others. Dan. 10:13; Luke 18:1; Prov. 24:10
Maybe it’s time to change your prayer style and ask God to reveal the exact thing you are doing wrong with prayer so you can start engaging this spiritual tool correctly.

Title: Fear Not
Text: Isaiah 41:10
Peace is not the absence of danger but the ability to remain calm amid frightening circumstances. Life may look gloomy and fearful at times, putting us in a dire moment of panic and uncertainty. An awful medical diagnosis, being unable to pay your bills, or job loss, can result in paralyzed emotion. However, God’s word of assurance remains “fear not”.
God’s intention here is not to make you deny your fear, but He wants you to be in control of it. This is because a person overtaken by fear cannot be responsive to God at the same time, since fear is of the devil (Rom. 6:16). Please know these facts about fear:
- Fear is a weapon of the devil to rob believers of their blessings. 1 John 4:18
- Fear is the opposite of faith. You cannot have fear and exercise faith at the same time. Heb. 11:6; Matt. 14:28-31
- A common acronym for fear is (False Evidence Appearing Real). In other words, the devil can paint a scary picture of a minor problem to cause panic and anxiety. Num. 13:33; Prov. 23:7
- Fear can sometimes be a sign of pride. You are sorely afraid of a problem because you think you are incapable of solving it. The fear goes away the moment you completely trust in the Lord’s ability to handle it. Prov. 3:5-6
You need to be aware that God wants you in control of your fear. The statement “fear not” appears about 365 times in the Bible, implying God wants you equipped with an antidote to fear every day as you pursue life. You can overcome your fear if you are intentional about it. Meditate on the word of God daily and stop feeding on junk information from the world (Jos. 1:8-9). Be open and sincere before God in prayer about your challenges, worries, and fears. Tell Him you can’t handle it by yourself, then trust Him to take care of them (Heb. 4:15-16).

Title: The fullness of God
Text: Psalm 24:1-5
It is a non-controversial truth that God is the possessor of every treasure of wealth and wellness that ever exists in the entire universe. Little wonder the scripture affirms that His provision for His children is not based on any earthly economic standard but on heaven’s ever-flowing abundance (Phil. 4:19).
The limitless capacity of God, referred to in Psalm 24:1 as “His fullness”, is a demonstration of His all-sufficiency. Don’t be deceived by the gravity of your marital, financial, career, or spiritual challenges; God is bigger than them all. He is all you need in every circumstance of life if only you can trust in His ability.
However, only those who are God’s true children are qualified to access this fullness. Specifically, those who have separated themselves from the pollution and compromise of the World (Ps. 24:3-5; 1 John 2:15). They are those who have chosen to trust in God, no matter the cost; those who have determined not to deny their faith for a short-term gain or comfort; those who will not bow to worldly pressure but stick with God’s process, even though it may be delayed (Heb. 11:24-25). They are the people who can command heaven’s attention when they cry.
May the Lord help you to do away with everything that can disqualify you from entering and dwelling in His fullness this month, in Jesus’ name.

Title: Christ Second Coming
Text: Matthew 24:3-43
Everything about Jesus Christ is prophetic: His birth, ministry, crucifixion, death, and resurrection were all prophesied many years ahead. This is why His second coming is certain to happen because it was also prophesied.
However, at His second coming, He will appear as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, not as a lamb slain for the world (Rev. 1:7). He is coming to take away His saints to their resting place in eternity. Only those whose names are found in the Book of Life are potential candidates for His second return (Rev. 20:15; Heb. 9:28; 1 Thess. 4:16-17). Will your name be there?
The mystery of His second coming is that Jesus Himself does not know when the event will happen; only God the Father knows (Matt. 24:36). Jesus only gave us signs that will signal His return. Many of the signs Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24 are glaringly evident in our modern times. Of all the signs that Jesus outlined, one that seems to be most important is the delivery of the gospel message to every part of the earth (Matt. 24:14). This clearly demonstrates the Father’s desire to see everyone saved (2 Pet. 3:9). We will be selfish and wicked to place our expectations on all other signs but this very important one. In other words, if you are not passionate about preaching the gospel, you are a liar and a fraud to say you are expecting Jesus’ return.
Let us prepare ourselves ready for His arrival. Let us occupy till He comes (Luke 19:13). Be engaged in the assignment to spread His kingdom to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8; Matt. 28:18-20).

Title: Lessons from His resurrection
Text: Matthew 26:20-56
We give all the glory to the Father of Lord, Jesus Christ, for fulfilling His promise of redemption by raising Jesus from the dead. Of course, our redemption message would have been in vain if Jesus had not risen from the dead (1 Cor. 15:14). However, this story of redemption would not have been possible if Jesus had failed to conform to the Father’s plans (Luke 22:42).
Everything that happens in the life of a Christian is not an accident or coincidence; they are all pre-ordained in God’s plan. Jesus knew this divine mystery, so He was not bothered by the circumstances around Him. Jesus knew who would betray Him and that all His disciples would forsake Him, but He still related with them because He understood their human frailties. In fact, He was open about it to help them. Jesus wants us to be open and transparent to our friends and close associates about any differences or concerns we may have so we can live in harmony with them (Heb. 12:14).
Jesus was abandoned and denied by His close friends in His lowest moment, but that did not make Him lose focus on His assignment (Heb. 12:2). God has put you in this world to achieve a specific purpose. Do not allow the actions of anyone, your friends, your husband, your wife, your co-worker, your boss, your parents or even your pastor, to shift your focus from accomplishing that purpose. You are not permitted to hate anyone, but you are permitted to ignore their noises, which are not relevant to the attainment of your destiny.
Jesus did not resort to violence against those who came to arrest Him, even though He had more than enough capacity to prosecute immediate judgment on them. He even prayed for those who were deriding and mocking Him while on the cross. This is a great lesson for us that we should not see those people trying to harm or do us evil as enemies but rather should pray that God opens their eyes of understanding so they can be free from Satan’s influence (Matt. 5:44). Your husband or wife is not your enemy, but Satan that is working through them (1 Peter 5:8).
When you learn to focus on the cause that is greater than you, then you will be able to look past all the distractions around you (1 Sam. 17:29-37). You can decide to be bitter about negative situations around you, or you can be better in the way you handle them; the choice is yours. Just be rest assured that on God’s part, He has ordained all things to work in your favor (Matt. 8:28).

Title: Send your word
Text: Psalm 107:20
The word of God is the foundation on which the entire creation stands. God literarily spoke everything in the universe into existence (Rom. 4:17). His word has the potency to reverse the irreversible, make impossible possible and change a hopeless situation into an amazing testimony because it is coming from the almighty Himself.
Jesus Christ, who is the Word Himself, said that the word He spoke are Spirit and life. In other words, the word that comes from Him is able to bring the dead back to life. No wonder the dead and rotten body of Lazarus could not withstand the word of His mouth (John 11:42-44). I declare to you today that as His word is coming to you through this write-up, every dead situation in your life will come alive in Jesus’ name.
The hopeless situation at the wedding at Cana in Galilee and the fruitless labor of a frustrated professional fisher man, Peter, ended in amazing wonders because a word of hope came from the one who the God of wonders (John 2:1-10; Luke 5:1-6). Today, as His word comes to you, every of your labor will turn to harvest of unlimited blessings, and all your shame will turn to glory in Jesus’ name.
It does not matter how long you may have been suffering from any illness or medical condition, and it does not matter the diagnosis you may have received concerning your condition. The word of the one whose name is higher than any sickness is coming to you now, and all your sicknesses will be healed in Jesus’ name (Ps. 107:20; John 5:1-8; Phil. 2:8-9).
As His word is coming to you today, ensure that you have received Him as your Lord and personal savior if you haven’t done so before. This is what will make His word to be effective in your situation. May the Lord bless you as you obey His word in Jesus’ name.

Title: Let him that stands take heed
Text: 1 Corinthians 10:12
Our victory is guaranteed as Christians and members of the body of Christ when we work on and work with each other. In other words, we become a cohesive and formidable force when we all learn to lift each other and stop tearing ourselves down.
It is often sad to see Christians denigrate and slander their brethren who have just fallen into the trap of Satan through sin. The fallen believer, who is now caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, becomes more confused. In the end, the believer is forced to follow the path of least resistance and return to the “world” where he/she is neither accused nor condemned. Unfortunately, this is how we gradually lose important souls in the kingdom of God.
Jesus’ concept of the church as His body is far deeper than many Christians understand. It is a union in which every Christian is joined in one purpose and destiny. No one in the union is esteemed or ranked higher than others (even though some may be more gifted than others). Each member of the body is to complement the others, and not to compete with one another. If a member is sick, poor, jailed, or backslides from the faith, other members are to rally round and help (1 Cor. 12:12-27; Gal. 6:1).
We all have our personality differences and therefore have differing weaknesses. Ironically, Satan tempts everyone in their areas of weakness (1 Cor. 7:5; Jam. 1:14). The fact that you are standing today does not make you immune to Satan’s temptation tomorrow. How do you know if the brother you slandered and mocked due to his fall into sin may be the one to save you in your own time of predicament? The person you did not help in times of need may not be there for you when it’s your turn. So, take it easy now if you are doing well in your standing with God, and don’t look down on others who are struggling (1 Cor. 10:12).

Title: Train up a child
Text: Proverb 22:6
Parenting will be both rewarding and fruitful if all parents see themselves as stewards of God’s resources (their children). Since faithfulness is a major component of stewardship, parents are expected to be faithful in raising the children God has given them (1 Cor. 4:2).
An established principle of the Kingdom of God is that there are shared responsibilities; don’t expect God to do what you are required to do. In the Bible, you will often see expressions like “resist the devil”, “flee every appearance of evil”, “give and it shall be given”, “put on the whole armor”, “cast out demons”, “train up a child”, etc. (Jam. 4:7; 1 Thess. 5:22; Luk. 6:38; Eph. 6:11; Mark 16:17; Prov. 22:6). All these are our indications of duties and not God’s. In other words, God sees the training of a child as the parent's responsibility. Even though parents may pray to God to give them the resources and wisdom to train their children, it is still their duty to apply the resources appropriately.
The training God expects from parents is the one that produces a lasting impact and helps to fulfil God’s purpose in the life of their children. In other words, the training should be all-round: spiritual, mental, emotional, intellectual, etc. An important success catalyst is to start at a very early age (Prov. 22:6). Show your child the ways of God from their cradle years; discover and explore their passions and interests to guide them in their choice of career; model Godly parenting to them so they can embrace it.
These can only be possible if parents themselves have the essential values of a Godly parent; you cannot give what you don’t have. Phil. 2:13 says, “it is God who works in us, both to will and to do of His good pleasure”. In other words, for you to be able to fulfil the responsibility of training your children, according to God’s command, you must have God, through Christ Jesus, working inside of you. This means you have surrendered your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and you are living by the directions of His Spirit daily (Rom. 8:14).
